Los Angeles Democrat mayoral candidate Rep. Karen Bass says she no longer feels safe in the city after her home was burglarized and two guns were taken. "I came home one evening to see my house in disarray, and it was very traumatizing,” she told Fox 11 Los Angeles on Thursday. "My safety was shattered." (snip)"I had guns for personal safety, as do many other people," Bass also said. "I think that gun control is extremely important, but I have never believed that people, if they wanted to have guns, should not have them..."

Comments:

Uh-huh, sure you believe in "gun control" but also believe that "people" should have guns for safety reasons. Translation: I got "caught" with guns for personal protection so now I have to pretend like I believe the peasants should have guns too.

Let me guess...no permit to carry for her "safety"...never applied for one. FTA: "...In many neighborhoods, people don’t feel safe. They would like to see an increased presence of police officers." How about a novel program that would buy these residents firearms to protect themselves, their families, and their homes? Cheaper than cops, and likely more effective in the long run.

They weren’t “safely secured” if a burglar could walk into the house and take them. There’s probably a law in California about that. She should be arrested!

She first purchased the guns, and was trained in their use by an LA Cop...back in the late 70's, when she was part of a Fidel Castro supporting "Revolutionary Peoples Militia" movement/organization, that's goal was the overthrow of the US Government constitutional republic/system and replacing it with a Cuban Style Communist Dictatorship... As Congresswoman Liz Cheney was being decisively repudiated by the voters of Wyoming (66 percent to 29 percent is a repudiation), her smug Eastern establishment certainty of moral virtue remained intact. However, in describing her situation with the words of Abraham Lincoln, she skewed the historic record. If Lincoln had only garnered 29 percent support in his 1858 U.S. Senate race against Stephen Douglas, he would never have been president.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued a concurring judgment in the Supreme Court ruling Friday morning that revokes a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. Roberts explicitly sided with his conservative colleagues in their majority opinion to uphold Mississippi's ban on abortions following 15 weeks of pregnancy. However, in his concurring opinion, he expressed a difference in opinion with his colleagues on the matter of overturning the court's decades-old decision in Roe v. Wade, which gives women the constitutional right to abortion.

Sea level rise is increasing at a dramatic rate. Scientists at the University of Miami warn that if we don't act soon, coastal cities and towns will slowly diminish. Scientists say a few decades from now, downtown Miami will be underwater. The tide is coming in and eventually it's not going to go back out," says Dr. Harold Wanless, a Geologist and Professor of Geography and Sustainable Development at University of Miami. So what does that mean for us? According to Dr. Wanelss's research, by the year 2060, nearly 60% of Miami-Dade county will be underwater.
