Mortgage rates when President Joe Biden took office? 2.65 percent. Today? 6.28 percent.
On Tuesday, Biden held a weird celebration of his “Inflation Reduction Act” on the lawn of the White House. Why was it weird? Because at the very same time as Democrats were applauding themselves, the U.S. Labor Department was releasing figures that showed an “unexpected” rise in inflation, with the cost of rent, food, and other basic necessities continuing to skyrocket. Now we learn that mortgage rates have climbed above six percent for the first time since 2008. Wonder what kind of party Biden has planned for this milestone?

The strategy of Greg Abbott and others to send illegal aliens to sanctuary cities around the country was a stroke of genius. Not that it was original: for at least the last five or six years, a friend has been emailing me to the effect that illegals should be sent to Marin County, Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco mansion, and, above all, Martha’s Vineyard. That, he said, would bring the open border problem to a screeching halt.
And it may. Ron DeSantis’s master stroke of sending two planeloads of aliens to Martha’s Vineyard has made liberal heads explode. The irony is evident to everyone. These places are “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens,

Another day, another Ron DeSantis hit piece in a major newspaper. “Is Ron DeSantis the Future of the Republican Party?” by New York Times reporter Matt Flegenheimer is set to appear in the September 18 Sunday Magazine, posing the question: Will Florida’s governor throw his hat in the ring for president, even if Donald Trump runs as well?
After some preamble, Flegenheimer sets the scene for his long analysis, in which DeSantis comes off perversely well, despite the reporter's attempt to paint him as a right-wing strongman.
….He has for years merrily shunned the perspectives of moderating influences and gentle dissenters and found himself validated at every turn, his recent history a whir

Whom does President Biden consider a “MAGA Republican?” In his Sept. 1 prime-time address from Philadelphia, the president claimed he was not tarring the entire GOP — or even the majority of Republicans — as followers of “extreme MAGA ideology.” He was attacking only “election deniers” who “do not believe in the rule of law” and refuse to “recognize the will of the people.”
If he had limited his critique to those who refuse to accept legitimate election results — including Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House Jan. 6 committee, who voted on Jan. 6, 2005, in objection to the counting of Ohio’s electoral votes, and Stacey Abrams,

Thinking unapproved thoughts is a violent activity. Saying those thoughts out loud is terrorism, and as we all know terrorists have to be hunted down.
Break out the drones!
It’s not quite that bad in the US…yet. But the Left is working very very hard to get there. President Biden has already mused that the US government has F-15s ready to go should they be needed to suppress the MAGA crowd. They have even invented a term for people who think and talk like you and me: stochastic terrorists.
A quick search on Google for the term “stochastic terrorism” (the neologism being used to describe the violence of unapproved speech)

A federal judge on Thursday denied the Justice Department’s (DOJ) motion to access the classified records stored at Mar-a-Lago and installed a recently retired judge to serve as the special master former President Trump requested.
The duo of orders from federal district Judge Aileen Cannon will ignite a Justice Department appeal to the 11th Circuit and also taps Judge Raymond Dearie to serve as the special master — the one candidate both the DOJ and Trump’s legal team could agree on. The order requires Dearie to complete his review by Nov. 30 — a slightly shorter deadline than the 90-day window Trump requested, but one that punts

FedEx on Thursday withdrew its full-year guidance and announced significant cost-cutting measures following what it called softness in global volume of shipments.
"Global volumes declined as macroeconomic trends significantly worsened later in the quarter, both internationally and in the U.S.," CEO Raj Subramaniam said in the release. "While this performance is disappointing, we are aggressively accelerating cost reduction efforts. As part of these cost-cutting initiatives, FedEx will close 90 office locations, close five corporate office facilities, defer hiring efforts, reduce flights and cancel projects.
FedEx stock fell about 12% in extended trading Thursday.

The Chamber of Commerce of Martha’s Vineyard said it was handling the “humanitarian crisis” on the island after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent planes carrying 50 illegal immigrants to the island. “To our Island community, here is an update on current humanitarian crisis on Martha’s Vineyard….we thank people for their continued help,” the island’s Chamber of Commerce tweeted.
A statement from the Dukes County Emergency Management Association included in the tweet said the island is providing “shelter, food, and care” to the illegal immigrants who arrived yesterday and that “a coalition of Vineyard towns, community-based, and nonprofit groups are assisting in this effort.”

We all know the lengths that MSM will go to protect Democrats. Once the talking points go out, the MSM can be counted on to spread them far and wide.
Republicans are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, fat-shaming….well, you know the drill. It gets tiresome after a while, honestly. But apparently it works well enough to trot this tired mantra out regularly.
Sometimes the lengths they go to are especially remarkable. And, to be honest, in this case it is hard to blame them. The mission is to save the Senate campaign for John Fetterman, and that is a really really tall order.
Fetterman is running for US Senate against Dr. Mehmet Oz.

The surge of migrants moving west to the El Paso Border Patrol Sector led to the apprehension of approximately 30,000 in August, a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection says. The trend overwhelmed the sector’s detention capacity, forcing agents to carry out street releases.
Agents in the El Paso Sector jumped into the number two spot with the apprehension of just under 30,000 migrants, Breitbart Texas reported. This is up from approximately 25,000 apprehended in July. With one month to go in the fiscal year, agents in the El Paso Sector apprehended nearly 260,000 migrants. The westward movement of the migrant surge caused detention centers in the El Paso Sector

As we reported, a search warrant was executed at the home of longtime Los Angeles politician and former child actor Sheila Kuehl (D-Santa Monica) around 7 AM local time Wednesday morning. In an impromptu interview with Fox11 Los Angeles about an hour later, Kuehl quickly cast the incident as a “bogus search” spurred by an “obsessed” former LA Metro employee that LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva simply went along with. However, it was soon reported that the warrant related to “an ongoing public corruption investigation” and was executed by LASD and federal agents, and that warrants were concurrently served

The Miami Herald has discovered something about Republican politicians, and boy, is it a problem. You may want to sit down for this one.
GOP politicians who are Christians use scripture in their speeches. GAAAAAAAASP! Grab the fainting couch! I know. You’re not really shocked or appalled, but this information came as news to the Miami Herald’s Ana Ceballos, particularly when it comes to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), who Ceballos’ article says is “playing with fire.”
The reporter goes all the way back to February to cite a speech DeSantis made at Hillsdale College to make her point.
“Put on the full armor of God. Stand firm
