Bitter divisions over politics and the pandemic have seeped into churches and led to increasing rates of job burnout among pastors, multiple clergy members and those who counsel them told Fox News Digital. "Our faith does not exempt us from anxiety, depression, temptation or COVID, so that's to be expected," said David Ferguson, executive director of the Great Commandment Network, which provides counseling initiatives to help pastors. "But in addition to that, we obviously are in a real divided, polarized, politicized world, where sadly at times pastors feel the pressure to take positions on every imaginable topic."

Pastors would do well if they stick to preaching the gospel and the scriptures instead of social issues from the pulpit.

I wager the burnout is due to not wanting to offend any members of the congregation. A pastor can speak boldly if he wants to. Or pretend that nothing is going on.

Pastors need to lead their folds TO the His light and AWAY from darkness. They cannot afford to pander to other matters and they risk the loss of their own salvation if they try.

Two issues here: Didn't expect much from national church leadership but expected more outrage from local ministers, priests, etc. about the forced closing of churches, temples, etc. because of covid and keep politics out of religion in church.

"For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God." 2 Timothy 1:7-8

The priests at the church I go to preach on the need to repent, quit sinning and obey the laws of God. That's why I like them.

They've showed no leadership, stewardship, or even a genteel shepherding and protection of their flocks from the marxist wolves.

I gotta laugh....
I live in western Assachusetts. I drive by a cogrgational church all the time, chipping paint, lawn not mowed, side walk cracked and full of weeds.
The sign stating it's a congressional church, has a sign below it that says...
"God is still speaking"
Sticking proudly from the sign, on poles... one on each side is...
The homosexual flag and on the other the Ukrainian flag. Not an American flag in sight.
Apparently God is indeed speaking and the congregation are profoundly deaf.
I proudly roll down my window and give them the middle finger each time I pass.
Hope lightening strikes and burns down the building with all of them inside. That should get the message across loud and clear!
NO SYMPATHY HERE!!!
NEXT!!!

#8--IIRC, it was a small force from western Mass, in a jungle of Loyalists and do-nothings, that sparked the American Revolution.
Please, preserve that spark proudly in your heart, enlightened by the Holy Spirit.

Nobody to blame but themselves. Jesus Christ is the head of the church not them. Where in scripture do they get the authority to do what they do? The one man ministry is a figment of their imagination. The Spirit of God is here present with us and He indwells each believer and is with us to lead in the church. Read the scriptures.

How about teaching Biblical truth, saving souls, and turning away from virtue signaling by promoting social justice causes that go against God's teachings?

This could be the Tribulation as spoken about in the Bible. This is no time for Christian ministers to bail out unless they were false prophets pushing "Good Times" theology.
