Would have been better if there had been a firearms malfunction and Cleotha joined the ranks of being unfortunately in the way of that malfunction. What a POS.

As a fellow runner, it angers me beyond reason that a woman can’t go out for a run at any hour of the day without wondering if she’ll make it home alive. I was training for a marathon this time last year and 4am runs were not uncommon. Never again. Prayers to her family.

A chilling new twist as in it was not another bLACK repeat felon murdering a random White person? That would be shocking indeed.

Always run or bike with friends and do it armed and trained. This kidnapper needed a bullet in the brain when he made his move.

The guy was released from prison two years ago but still had two years on his sentence. This young woman might still be alive if he had been forced to finish his complete sentence. What this country needs is a Victim Justice System, forget about the GD criminals.

Unless a Woman is ARMED, it is foolish to think they can run anywhere, alone, safely. It doesn't matter if it's a "nice neighborhood" or not. There is no reason to test fate! Run with other people, and in daylight! Predators are everywhere and they don't mind waiting and watching for the perfect time to attack. More and More Women are taking Conceal and Carry classes so that they can be Armed to defend themselves from an attack! It's the wise thing to do if you MUST run alone or at 4 AM in the Dark!

The twist is that the perp, I mean suspect, kidnapped another white 22 years ago. Wonder whether the connection to the law office in question had some meaning to Abston (could the choice have been arbitrary?).

Horrible, sad, tragic, but typical of the world we now live in. Jogging at 4:30 am? In Memphis? I live in a suburb of Atlanta and I'm thinking about wearing a gun to walk from my front door to my mailbox at noon. The world is a dangerous place. Protect yourself.

I feel so sorry for her family. Memphis--ALL of Memphis--is dangerous. If you absolutely MUST run at 4:30am, it is prudent to do it locked inside somewhere. She is an heiress, for heaven's sake. She can't afford a treadmill?? It's not optimal, I know; but it's better than being murdered and having your husband and kids traumatized for the rest of their lives. Sure, the perps are at fault; but naïveté played a part here, too.

Democrat John Fetterman is committing to at least one debate with his Republican opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, in Pennsylvania’s race for U.S. Senate. In a Wednesday afternoon article authored by Politico’s Holly Otterbein, Fetterman said voters will see him on the debate stage with Oz “sometime in the middle to end of October.” A “major television station” in the Keystone State will host the debate, Fetterman said. “Early voting typically begins 4-6 weeks before the election and ends at the mail-in ballot request deadline,” the University of Pennsylvania notes, meaning voting will be well underway by the time the candidates take the debate stage.

The Air Force Academy said it received 8,393 applications for the class of 2026, down from 11,599 for the class of 2025. Officials blame decisions made during the COVID-19 pandemic as the main culprit for the 28% drop.

Liz Truss, who won a bitter battle to succeed Boris Johnson as British prime minister, is set to preside over a historic moment: For the first time, there is unlikely to be a White man holding one of Britain's four top seats of political power. Truss is set to name James Cleverly as foreign secretary, Suella Braverman - whose parents came to Britain in the 1960s from Kenya and Mauritius - as home secretary, and Kwasi Kwarteng as the country's first Black chancellor of the exchequer, or finance chief, U.K. media outlets reported.

The press secretary disputed the report, claiming the U.S. government imposed a “rigorous and multi-layered” screening and vetting process. He then questioned her on whether “MAGA [Make America Great Again] Republicans” or DHS-listed national security threats pose a bigger threat

The algae bloom, which appeared in late July, has grown to an immense size because of the tons of nutrients from urine and feces of the eight million Bay Area residents that is released into the waters daily—one plant alone dumps 85 million gallons a day that contains 5.5 tons of nitrogen. Scientists say the bloom was triggered by climate change,

McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.
