presents the GOP with a sterling opportunity

Whenever political leaders lose all political capital due to their misgovernance and have no real issues to base their campaign on, they often resort to focusing on the symbolic — usually referring to "the soul of the nation."
This happened before in the U.S., it happened in India, it happened in the U.K. and it happened again in the U.S.
This is most typical of the left.
Instead of being humble and conceding their mistakes, they attack voters for thinking of voting against them while overlooking the myriad catastrophes they presided over. They often blame their opponents for what they are guilty of — bigotry, violence — and then end with the "soul" plea.

Biden's psychotic ravings are a symptom of a wounded wild beast fighting for it's life. The beast knows it is dying and is doing all it can to survive even if it's actions are contrary to logic, reason and morality.

Yes it provides an opportunity but the likes of McConnell, Romney, Collins, Murkowski, Sasse, Cheney, Kinzinger et al are so uni-party blind that the opportunity will not be taken.

What is dismaying is that even DeSantis has kept silent about Biden's obscene rant. IMO, a serious political misjudgment. Who is advising him?

Smart, strong Republicans have already spoken up and condemned the madman at the Nazi podium. The spineless majority, communists and RINOs remain silent. If you don't like Donald Trump or at least acknowledge the tremendous good he has done, you ain't an American.

There's a reason none of the mainstream news broadcast organizations chose NOT to show this insane tirade live: They KNEW whatever came out of bidens mouth would be a disaster, so they did what they always do for this demented old fool...they Lied By Omission. If people didn't see it, it couldn't have been as bad as the rightwing, extremist MAGA fascists are screaming about. There, problem solved. It's Republicans fault.

Has anybody noticed that Biden has been acting like the poster child for a hateful, while-privileged, bigoted semi-fascist that he is accusing over half of the citizens of this country of being. He will go down in history as the great divider president.

The "soul of our nation" died in 1965 when Sen. Ted Kennedy pushed through his Immigration Act that vastl;y increased the annual number of "legal immigrants," opened the door to hell-hole country immigrants. Further erosion would occur to 'lower the bar' regarding aptitudes and skills required to even apply. So far, the bar has been lowered to the ground and the doors flung open to allow anyone to enter. And they accomplished all of this using "white mans' guilt" over civil rights. As the saying goes, "Two wrongs don't make a right."

As usual, we didn’t see MConnell or McCarthy step up to do much of anything. It’s just another missed opportunity. McCarthy’s pre-buttall fell flat and was a dud. The Turtle was in the counting room counting out his money as usual. A more effective strategy is desperately needed than whatever these two fools can come up with. Why didn’t they call a joint press conference and allow their members to rebut all of Joe’s lies? Are their no PR people on our side? Each statement that defamed Republicans should have been challenged, but they were not. M & M need to go or they have to step up their game. We live in a fast moving communication world today and we need leaders who know how to navigate it effectively to confront all the lies democrats pump out daily. The American people deserve better. Everyone of our elected leaders should put pressure on M & M to do a better job of getting our message out. Ours is the winning message, the best strategy going forward for the American people and it should be shouted from the rooftops. I am tired of watching our side being pummeled and not lifting a glove to fight back. When you are given an opportunity, run with it.

Anyone remember a demented fool campaigning from his basement say”…words matter…”? Now after overnight polls showed the disaster that the worst speech from the worst president went over like a lead balloon.
BTW, DeSantis criticized the speech all day Friday.

Biden did not write Thursday night's speech. Remember Obama said he wanted to fundamentally change America. This is that. Obama and his cronies/former regime in the WH wrote that Commie take over speech!

#13, Ron DeSantis is governor of Florida, the country’s third most populous state. It is not his job to run immediately to the microphone to rail against the nonsense spewed by the Democrats. One thing I admire about DeSantis is that when he does address something his words are thoughtful and devastating to the Democrats. He is not President Trump’s wingman. I expect we will hear from him soon enough.

I think the Hollywood producers that were flown in to manage the jan 6th mess got to the obama/biden cabal and that's why the scene was set in red and biden went on a tantrum filled rage... the directors wanted to set the stage for a forceful leader that frightened MAGA away...it had the opposite effect...WE are more determined than ever to rid Washington of the tyrants....

This speech was a huge miscalculation by the liberals. If he was talking to leftists he was preaching to the choir. If he was talking to the rest of us we have a clear message for him that is too obscene to post.

Beside the networks ignoring the speech, absolutely no mention of it in NY Magazine or The Huffington Post. Apparently is was so radioactive that they weren't going to go near it. This non reaction from the people that routinely called Trump " Hitler " , they're so strangely quiet.

"oh, Really" - then that means the true repubs will out Hong Kong Mitch and send him to the back of the room, forever or, until 2026 when he he is kicked out of the Senate by the voters in Kentucky and as for McCarthy, he had better grow some testosterone and re-create himself or else the Leader Of The Republican Party will make his life miserable ... and ... we all know you don't want to get on the bad side of President Donald J. Trump

As obviously, astonishingly bad as Biden and the current Dem leadership are, and as deeply unhappy and angry as the public is, according to several polls, nevertheless, the pre-election numbers are improving for Dems. How can that be? 2 reasons:
1. The media successfully lies and hides tons of horrendous info. Most people are completely unaware of what's going on in the schools, for one example. Unaware of what exactly is on the Biden laptop. Etc. The Dems are running tons of lying, good news commercial s on my local TV news. Republicans - not a single one .
2. That Republicans are actually going all in with saying they are going to outlaw all abortions, even for teenagers raped by a family member, or a victim of human trafficking, even for a woman who finds out she is fighting cancer and whose doctor is recommending termination of the pregnancy. That position is every bit as extreme and insane as the wackjob Dems who advocate killing full-term babies on the delivery table. Americans have consistently rejected both those extremes over and over in polling, over years. I have followed this issue.
As many are pointing out, it's like the Repubs are trying to lose. It's so, so depressing.
