Well, the left has got one. On Twitter and beyond, you've never heard such crowing:
According to Politico:
Democrat Mary Peltola has defeated Republican Sarah Palin in the special election for Alaska’s vacant House seat, a big upset over the former governor in the state’s first election under ranked-choice voting.
Peltola, a former state legislator who will become Alaska’s first indigenous member of Congress, defeated a special election field that included Palin and another Republican, Nick Begich III. The Democrat finished first in the initial tally and then won enough second-choice votes from Begich’s supporters to see off Palin,

She lost because of that 'ranked choice voting' garbage that was passed by the REPUBLICANS in Alaska. The republican party has been known as the Stupid Party for decades, we can now see they want to hang on to that title.

Conservative state legislatures had better get woke on this ranked choice voting before this country is totally gone. Look at California to see what you can get from it.

Washington State is pushing for "Ranked Choice voting". Being pushed by a Democrat. But oh course you knew that. It's a method to split Republican voters between multiple Republican candidates while having only ONE Democrat candidate. Easy to see who will ALWAYS win. Funny how the "extra" Republican candidates are people no one has heard of and seem to be promoted by Democrats.

No, it doesn't indicate a "blue wave". It indicates many Alaskans still hold a well-founded grudge against Mrs. Palin's abandoned term as governor.

Palin is so-yesterday, a nostalgia piece. As the article notes, "The Democrat finished first in the initial tally and then won enough second-choice votes from Begich's supporters to see off Palin..." Palin's day was over a decade ago. Since then it's been a try at her and her family establishing celebrity. In Alaska, her fan appeal is apparently limited. And the fact that FPDT endorsed her in defeat is another irritant to some. One wonders whether his recent rant for reinstatement played into this.

Ranked choice voting for Federal offices is unconstitutional. It dilutes the vote of committed single candidate voters and gives voters for fringe candidates more than one vote. This was pushed in Alaska by Murkowski supporters who simply wanted to disrupt the movement away from her towards Trump supporters like Palin. It is just another scheme to undermine one-man-one-vote and the 14th amendment equal protection under the law.

The Democrat had the most first place votes in a three way race. The Democrat won.
The Democrats have redefined the role of government by conditioning voters. That is why they are winning. Voters are voting for whomever gives them the most freebies. Voters are voting against Republicans because they have been taught to hate them. Voters have been taught to be altruists and make issues like climate change and social justice their top priorities.
The economy and honest competent government aren't even on their radar anymore.
This is how a senile sick corrupt Biden was able to get over 70 million votes in 2020. It worked then. It still works now. This is why our nation is crashing.

#5, Had you read the article you would have learned that the Republican vote was 60% but split between the two Republicans. I’m astounded that the Republican legislature imposed ranked voting on Alaska. This system first reared its ugly head in Democrat strongholds that wanted to eliminate completely Republican opposition. Each of those who imposed this leftist for of election should be voted out.

Ranked choice? Just do away with voting on issues replacing it with a popularity contest. Dumb Republicans the same thing happened in Louisiana giving a democrat the seat, stupid to split the vote plus Republicans let this Ranked Choice BS fly.

I'm an Alaskan and won't say Sarah is perfect, BUT (!) the folks on here who always jump in and deride her are many time the same who loved Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, dislike Trump (uncouth), etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion; whatever floats your boat, fine.
For me, the fact that her Repub opponent in this evil ranked choice voting, Nick Begich, voted a few years ago for disgraced Dem Ethan Berkowitz for Anchorage mayor over the Repub candidate is sufficient to keep my vote from him. Watch how they vote, not what they say.
