The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District in Texas voted Monday to ban the teaching of critical race theory and not promote, require, or encourage the usage of pronouns not aligned with a student’s actual sex.
The 4-3 vote also implemented a strict process for reviewing library books and requires that students use the restrooms and locker rooms that align with their actual sexes. Library materials must be posted online and readily available for review by parents and a strict oversight process has been put in place for choosing and approving books.
ISD policy further bans the teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity until the fifth grade,

The scary part is that the vote went 4-3. They allow this garbage to be fed to fifth graders? I had no clue what sex was in the fifth grade.

God Bless Texas! (…and… In any sane version of history, this would have been a 7-0 unanimous decision that never even got discussed much less voted on because it’s so dang obvious. And it wouldn’t be a news story in one school district in one state because it would be the default position of everybody everywhere. But here we are. The sane version of history got derailed a couple of generations ago, so we have to fight for every 4-3 decision in every school board in every state for as long as we have breath.) God Bless Texas!

It seems that FL and TX are leading the way in teaching the rest of the country’s reluctant Republicans how to get things done instead of sitting home complaining about Republicans and threatening not to vote.

Psssst, Republicans: Listen to your constituents. The vast majority of Americans do not want this garbage anywhere near their children. Parents want their children taught the basics and want all this social/sexual/race drama out of the classroom. Schools should be a safe place and not a place of confusion of any kind. If liberals want their children awash in confusion and alternative ideas, put them in private liberal schools. Don’t expect public schools to indoctrinate your values into every student. If you won’t or can’t do that, then it is you who must go elsewhere. Tax dollars fund public schools and the money should not be used to fund your leftist ideology.

5th Grade? 10-Year-olds! Way to take a stand... No systemic normalizing, glorifying, indoctrinating, and grooming of our children into sexually deviant and perverse behavior until they are 10! No way at 5, but at 10 go ahead. Way to take a stand!

By fifth grade my mother had given me the “birds and the bees” talk but there was nothing in it about homosexuality. By high school I knew what it was but only in general terms and did not actually witness it until I was 18 and saw 2 guys kiss on a college campus. That was in 1971.
ALL sex education needs to be done by parents and eliminated completely from all schools.

They actually 'teach' sexual orientation and gender identity in the 5th grade? I thought 'education' was about preparing students skills for their working careers.

Think about it. A 4-3 vote on a sick pathetic agenda. It should have been 7-0. We have some sick freakin people in this country.

I agree with above posters. The 3 in the 4-3 vote is beyond “ disturbing “. What are these people doing on a school board ?

Good policy. However, it would offend my 19-year-old grandson who came to visit us last week and announced that his preferred pronouns are "she and they". He said not using them is hurtful. Big disappointment. I was hoping I'd never actually meet someone who stipulates pronouns and now it hits home. Praying that he'll snap out of this when reality bites - hopefully before his soon-to-be transition counselor and hormone therapist ruin his body. We simply avoid his pink feelings by not using pronouns. He's our only grandchild. The evil in our world is crushing.

Gender gobbledygook and the rest of the wacky woke weirdness has been waging a widespread siege on Texas for years. This enemy is worse than Santa Anna and merits the same diligent push to turn it back as was made against his army after the Battle of the Alamo.

For all of the " we're done as a nation" type of replies to the article because 3 out of 7 school board members, in a suburban school district smack dab in the middle of the huge urban areas of Dallas and Ft Worth, voted to retain the leftist worldview that dominates the politics of most large urban areas across the U.S., I'd say that at least the cup is over half full. The Dallas - Ft. Worth metropolitan area is the fourth largest in the U.S., and a huge portion of the 5+ million illegal aliens let in under Biden, mostly "off the books" choose to reside in this area, along with increasing numbers of Blue state transplants. Rather than surrender to the leftists, don't any of the naysayers think it might be a perfect time to fight harder? In most school boards across the country, members are elected in staggered years, such that the voters may not have had a opportunity to unseat the leftists since they have taken over Congress and the White House. It's better to work hard for 5-2, 6-1, or 7-0 than it is to hit the lifeboats.

#12 - My most sincere sympathies. I cannot imagine your heartache mixed with the pleasure of being with your grandson. God bless you with wisdom. Your situation is being replicated in families across America as daughters are turned against mothers and fathers against sons, as Scripture has warned us.
Mankind was created in the image and likeness of God. Our bodies are the image of God and our souls are the likeness of God. Satan attacks us on both fronts through temptations of the flesh and the thoughts of our minds. Satan usually attacks the body with sexual sins mocking ordained procreation, and elaborate body decorations and piercings to mock the Maker. In the 21st century Lucifer can go much farther to debase God's Work of the body.
The experimental transgender surgeries have been happening for some time in major hospitals, Boston Children's is one. This is being funded by major corporations and has approval in high places by important and educated people. They already have the whole process mapped out, starting children before puberty with hormone blockers and doing mutilating surgeries before they turn 18. This is being introduced to the entire country at the same time. Imagine the scale of this.
It's been going on for years. For centuries. Forever. This is spiritual warfare. Pray and go to church, so God can bless America again.

Way to go, Grapevine-Colleyville. Too bad it didn't pass unanimously.
And double too bad this didn't happen in the Austin ISD (almost Liberal enough to seem grafted from California).
