Gov. Kathy Hochul has a whopping 24-point lead over Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin with 11 weeks to go before Election Day, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
The incumbent Democrat had 55% support among likely voters in the poll conducted between Aug. 17 and Aug. 22 by SurveyUSA on behalf of WNYT-TV in Albany. Another 31% backed Zeldin and 14% said they were undecided.
There was some good news for Zeldin in the survey, with 33% of voters saying battling inflation was the most important issue when it comes to deciding their vote for governor. Health care and criminal justice reform were a distant second on 12% each.

Of course she does. Democrats are ten feet tall and lead every poll and every race. I'm in my sixties and the fiends said Reagan was losing.

If New Yorkers are dumb enough to elect her, they deserve what they get.

They are all practicing their shocked face for when it's a close race... Ever single time.

I don't doubt this. All that hoopla about Larry Elder winning the recall election and Zeldin within striking distance of the dem incumbent? There are some things you can always count on - CA and NY are two of them.

New Yorkers love the slave chains. Just LOVE them. They fear freedom over all things.

New Yorkers get the government that they deserve. And I hope they get it good and hard.
I left New York in 2000. My property taxes TODAY, on a house worth 3X what my house in NY was worth, is 1/3rd of what I was paying 22 years ago. I shudder to think what New Yorkers are paying in property taxes.

Do you ‘member when New Yorkers were flying to escape the flames of their previous votes? I member. New Yorkers will fly again some day. Not sorry.

in prior election cycles, leftoid pollsters admitted it was customary to pad the polls for demoncrats by 15% or so.
with their pusses down 6'' deep into the mud, da gangstas want 10 more points-which means she's still losing.

I am to believe even now, even when innocent pedestrians are teed up for knockout sucker punches on a frequent and random basis, for the provocation of walking down the street...
When commuters are pushed onto 3rd rails from random homeless drug addicts...
When the last dem office holder was hounded out of office and killed the city's elderly...
If even now those morons cannot help themselves by simply voting for the other tribe...there is no way to ever save that fetid and smoldering hell hole. NYC.

Never underestimate the stupidity of NY liberals who think they are better and smarter than anyone else in the country. They will elect and reelect someone who is so obviously inferior just because they are a liberal Democrat to continue to stupidity in governance and high taxes going. Anyone outside of the New York City area will vote for Zeldin. The citidiots (liberal idiots living in/around the city) love & vote liberal no matter what. Outside of the NYC metro area, it's all Zeldin.

All I can come up with is the name, "Boss Tweed".
But even he was unable to sustain the crimes un-punished after failing to keep his Ponzi political schemes floating.
Eventually, perhaps too late to mean anything constructive, Hochul will get her Twead moment.

What #10 said. The polls are to soften people up to believe an election outcome. That guy Nate Silver, who got 538 districts right? he thinks he really did that.... . my guess is those polls were used for guidance to what to steal that year.

Lee, at the point even YOU know you are going to lose - toss your own campaign for bold-face truth telling. You can't insult people too intoxicated by the sweet smell of gaslighting, so tell 'em what they're in for. They won't believe you, but they weren't going to vote for you either. Leave them with your warnings. Something to remember as the walls close in.

CA and NY, you can’t fix stupid, yet they’ll continue to complain about crime and Hochul will sit in her new million dollar office and laugh at the smelly common folk. You get what you vote for (sometimes)

That is pathetic. The only two explanations I have for this are these: One, the people of New York are content to live under communists rule, or two, New Yorkers are just far more stupid than anyone gives them credit for.

Representative Zeldin has several issues available at his disposal--
Crime, taxes, pocketbook issues, personal safety and the corruption of government.
Demonrat Socialists Marxists LOSE on every one--
Crime has increased, so families are not safe since the criminals are back on the street without penalty
Taxes are through the roof... who can afford to pay MORE taxes?
Pocketbook issues affect EVERYONE except the wealthy, and people have had to cut back or give up something somewhere to make their money strectch each month
Personal safety of themselves, their family members and threats against any property they own abound, and police cannot respond in time if a crime is being committed
Hochul has not shown herself to be much better than the previous Governor except she hasn't put Covid-1984 seniors together to die and hasn't been on record of sexual harrassment
Zeldin is a straight shooter and will level honestly with the people, and events down the road are only going to get worse so he presents a positive alternative
