UN diplomat dodges NYC rape rap thanks
to diplomatic immunity: cops

Original Article

A United Nations diplomat from Africa was accused of rape in Upper Manhattan over the weekend—but NYPD cops released him because he has diplomatic immunity, authorities say. Charles Dickens Imene Oliha, 46—a career diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in South Sudan—was arrested in Sunday’s alleged broad-daylight sex assault on a woman inside her apartment, according to a police report obtained by The Post on Monday. Oliha was taken into custody on suspicion of rape and brought in for questioning, cops said. But once he informed detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit that he was a diplomat, investigators confirmed he had immunity

Comments:

In other words, he was set free just the same as a garden-variety violent criminal would be in NYC. Remember when we used to fantasize that our former president might withdraw our membership from the United Nations and eject them from the USA? Add that to a long list of other things that never happened.

You don’t need diplomatic immunity to dodge a rape charge in New York. Being black or Liberal is more than enough.

I wonder if he can dodge a baseball bat from the woman's relatives? There are definitely times when our "justice" system dispenses zero justice and if justice is to be actually served, it must be done outside of the system. Some would judge this to be wrong. Others would judge it to be perfectly correct and right. If he was somehow punished physically outside the system, I would call that justice.

The Biden administration is leaning toward canceling up to $10,000 in student loan debt for those who make less than $125,000 a year, according to a new report. CNN reported that the announcement could come Wednesday, and that additional forgiveness for specific parts of the population are on the table as well. Liberal Democrats such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts have pressed for a far more sweeping loan forgiveness program. The income cap was seen as a way of insulating the White House from criticism that the debt relief is benefiting those who can afford their payments, per CNN.

City officials have either rented or announced plans to secure roughly 5,800 hotel rooms over the last month in response to the influx from the southern border, which quickly overwhelmed the already-strained homeless shelter system. One of the largest operations is planned for the ROW NYC hotel on 8th Avenue in Midtown, where officials are looking to rent as many as 600 rooms and provide intake and other services for the recent arrivals.

A pair of Georgia siblings have been awarded $1.7billion in punitive damages from Ford for a 2014 car crash that killed their parents. In 2014, Voncile and Melvin Hill died after their Ford F-250 blew a tire and rolled over. A jury this week ruled that they should have survived the crash and would have had the roof of their F-250 been designed properly. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.
