As a Federal employee, he can be compelled to testify before Congress. After he retires, he can't be compelled to testify. As a 50-year Fed, Fauci will walk out with a huge pension, free as a bird. Just ask Lois Lerner how she did.

Republican lawmakers say that President Biden's chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci leaving his government post won't stop them from holding him "accountable...." Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who sparred many times with Fauci in the Senate, said, "Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic." "He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak," Paul told Fox News Digital in a statement. "Retirement can’t shield Dr. Fauci from congressional oversight," House Oversight Committee ranking member James Comer, R-Ky., wrote on Twitter.

North Carolina State Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) unseated Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) in the state’s 11th congressional district primary. Dave Wasserman, the House editor of the Cook Political Report, reported that Cawthorn lost his renomination to state Sen. Edwards. Cawthorn faced increasing attacks from the left and establishment media outlets over many issues ... “I’ve really never seen the swamp launch such a coordinated attack against any individual in politics except for Donald Trump,” Cawthorn said in reaction to the attacks against him. Former Texas Gov. and Trump Energy Secretary Rick Perry endorsed Edwards during the 11th congressional district primary.

I hate that I even have to write this article given my distaste for Dr. Mehmet Oz. It’s my opinion that Kathy Barnette has crossed a line in Pennsylvania, and we need to talk about it. Barnette, who is running for the GOP Senate nomination in the state, has been locked in a fierce battle with Oz and Dave McCormick, the latter of whom has moved into third place in most polls. Now, she’s letting it be known that she will not support any of the other Republicans if she loses the primary. This is a big red flag ...

Inflation rose again in April, continuing a climb that has pushed consumers to the brink and is threatening the economic expansion, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. The consumer price index, a broad-based measure of prices for goods and services, increased 8.3% from a year ago, higher than the Dow Jones estimate for an 8.1% gain. Removing volatile food and energy prices, so-called core CPI still rose 6.2%, against expectations for a 6% gain. Inflation has been the single biggest threat to a recovery that began early in the pandemic and saw the economy in 2021 stage its biggest single-year growth level since 1984.

When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me. He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.

They suggest, “the way to seek real freedom will be to use procedures consistent with popular rule.” Of course, the piece is polished sewage: tyranny of the majority is a very real, and very dangerous threat to the individual, (perhaps they should go read Federalist 10, but they likely wouldn’t understand that either).
