A private jet belonging to Steven Spielberg has burned more than $116,000 worth of jet fuel since June despite the famous Hollywood director’s past warnings about global warming, according to a flight tracking database.
Spielberg’s plane, a Gulfstream G650, has burned at least $116,159 worth of jet fuel over the course of 16 trips spanning nearly 17,000 miles since June 23, according to flight tracking data from ADS-B Exchange and compiled by the database Celebrity Jets. The figures are likely an underestimate since the database didn’t calculate fuel and distance metrics of at least three trips made by Spielberg’s jet.

If you REALLY believed that that was destroying the planet you wouldn’t do it.
None of them believe it. It’s a con on the middle class.
Right chlamydia czar ckarrey? How much jet fuel do you and your family burn?

We need a government (taxpayer) provided credit for buying an electric private plane. I figure $75,000 should be enough incentive.

How come Spielberg is not being cancelled because of this? What about DeCaprio and dozens of other ones?
Because #1 is exactly right. It is a scam just like the scamdemic.

Probably could heat 1,000 homes for the coming winter with that kerosene.

Spielberg is a typical elitist. He does whatever he wants no matter the carbon footprint, but lectures everyone else on the need to reduce their carbon footprints. He is a hypocrite of the 1st Degree, no Joke.

The amount of carbon emitted by all the private jets and aircraft in the world is a negligible fraction of the amount of carbon emitted by the commercial airlines and military aircraft. It is even less significant when compared to the carbon emitted by coal burning electrical generation worldwide. Their is, at present, no source of energy that is light enough and energy dense enough to replace jet fuel (kerosene) so its not going away for the foreseeable future.
The real solution is to replace the coal, oil, and gas electrical generation plants with advanced liquid fuel nuclear power. Then people can have their jets while we sequester carbon dioxide from the air using excess process heat from the nuclear reactors. This processing can make steel and fertilizer without carbon emissions as well as desalinate seawater. All it takes is the will to do it.

Key point:
Carbon dioxide is a the mandatory requirement for green plants to grow. Without it they DIE. So, there is no harm whatsoever to "carbon emissions", which are carbon dioxide emissions, almost entirely.
So the base claim is totally non-scientific garbage to begin with.
BUT A-H's like Spielburg on one hand screetch and cry and yell about "carbon emissions" while emitting them at a rate of 10,000 or more times what the average person emits. So they are total hypocrites, although, in actuality, their "carbon emissions" like everyone else's carbon emissions are actually BENEFICIAL to green plant life on planet earth.
And those green plants take in the carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, which we and all other animals use.
ZERO harm from "carbon emissions", and it does NOT cause their BS global warming, either. Currently Kansas is has had a week of low to mid 80 degree temps for highs in middle to late August, when it is most often in the high 90s and low 100s. Kansas cooling this summer - which matches with the trend of the last four sunspot cycles, decreasing greatly, indicating a cooling trend, not a warming trend.
Of course, I believe that the giant yellow fusion reactor in the sky is the primary driver of our climate, and not some silly trace gas.

Spielberg's colleague John Kerry was asked about his private jet flying all over the world so he could talk about global warming. He didn''t mince words and said that people like him were more important than the average person. What came out of the rear end of his jet was of no consequence, therefore. And...windmills are wonderful but not where he could see them from his Massachusetts mansion or anywhere in the vicinity.

I'm a bit surprised it was only 116k worth of fuel. Did they also count the limo's and SUV's fuel as well?

OK, the Gulfstream 650 burns a bit over 450 gallons of fuel per hour in cruise. An average 1,500 sq ft home on a 10F outside temps will go over 90 days on that amount of kerosene, one hour's cruise consumption.
They say $116K fuel cost, and at $2.50 a gallon, that's about 49000 gallons. So, for the three months heating of a 1,500 sq ft home above, his two months 46,400 gallons would heat over 100 homes for three months if it were used as home heating oil, which is pretty much the same stuff as Jet A kerosene fuel.
One guy, in two months putting out the "dreaded carbon emissions" (which HE pretends is important, I don't) of 103 homes heated in pretty cold 10F weather for three months. He doesn't ACTUALLY give a damn about "carbon emissions", and I am sure believes that "rules are for the little people".
And probably the average African person won't use that much energy in their entire LIFETIME, all uses.

typo above, should read "46,000 gallons", but the rest of the numbers are right.

Using the statistics from the article, Spielberg is on pace to use 1074 tons of carbon annually. With the average American using 16 tons annually, Spielberg uses the equivalency of 67 Americans combined annually. Rules for thee etc. Keep movin those lips Hollywood
