Critics took aim at progressive activist Nina Turner after she took to social media to claim taxpayers wouldn't be on the hook for a proposed plan to forgive federal student loans. "Tell me you don't know where the federal government gets its money from without saying you don't know where the federal government gets its money from," conservative commentator Tim Young said in response to Turner's post Sunday. (Snip) "FYI—Student debt cancelation isn’t paid for by the taxpayers, the federal government is the lender," Turner said on Twitter Sunday. "It’s costlier for the government to hold on to the debt.

Comments:

Far too many fools are just as ignorant as this self-proclaimed "thought leader".

She's black, she never had to actually KNOW anything before to get top grades and graduate from wherever she graduated from. As Reagan said long ago, and exactly on target, “It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.” Which is a polite way of saying....full of manure, or full of beans.

Just make the rich pay their fair share, right? Make business pay its fair share too. Also make whitey pay up. It's so unfair the middle class has money while others do without. Just let the government own everything. As long as I get my cut. Besides, I'm entitled! You owe me! I would call this sarcasm, but far too many people think like this.

For every dollar increase in federal guaranteed student loans, college tuition has been caused to rise 60 cents. Because of Federal loans colleges have been freed from the usual market forces that would ordinarily force competition and lower charges. That sure as hell hasn't happened even with overall enrollments falling.

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin delivered an emotional speech on Wednesday, touting her job performance and defending her right to have a private life after leaked videos showed the leader dancing and partying wildly. “I am also human,” Finnish media quoted Marin as saying with a broken voice and red eyes. The 36-year-old politician insisted she has always been committed to her job serving the people of Finland. “This week has not been easy. It has been difficult. Europe’s wishful thinking in going green has landed it in hot water — or maybe cold water, since it’s now short on energy for heating. And that’s got Germany reversing course. Leaders there last week said they now plan to keep the country’s last three nuclear plants running, at least temporarily, to avoid having to divert natural gas for electricity. That pauses a years-long march away from nuclear power that’s backed by much of the German public (even though nuclear-energy production emits virtually no greenhouse gases).
