WASHINGTON -- The Inflation Reduction Act, a $739 billion measure signed into law by President Joe Biden on Tuesday, levies a 15% minimum tax on large corporations and marks the most significant climate legislation in U.S. history. Meanwhile, the law will reduce the federal deficit by $305 billion over roughly the next decade, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. (Snip) Americans can determine the financial benefits available to them under the law with help from a savings calculator created by Rewiring America, a nonprofit that aims to achieve energy efficiency through the electrification of "everything in our communities."

Somebody needs to do some elementary math. Our national debt--not the deficit--is about $30,000,000,000,000.00. THIRTY TRILLION DOLLARS. A projected reduction OVER TEN YEARS of $305,000,000.00 is about a .01% reduction. Get that? It is about as close to ZER0 PERCENT as you can get and thus is mathematically insignificant. Meanwhile, does anyone think that the government will not ADD to the deficit each and every year? Puhleeze!

It will take us nearly 3 years to 'save' the value of the weapons joey gave to the Taliban. It will be hilarious when the sand-fleas stiff him for his 30%. Yeah, his rates went up when he usurped the Presidency.

The "calculator" is a product of a green energy ngo which makes it biased and unreliable.

Do these people know that under Trump prescription drug prices were low? Insulin was virtually free? Biden came in an undid all of that. Now he redoes what Trump had done and claims it as his own.
This "Rewiring America" is another joke. Have any of these people ever driven across the country? Our cabin in northern Wisconsin didn't have electricity of any kind until 1945. We got our first landline phone in 1977. We've never had cable, everything is still satellite, being three miles from the nearest neighbor and nine from the nearest town doesn't bode well for getting any "rewiring" any time soon. There are similar places all over the country.
These people are delusional. What is wrong with our Representatives that they would pass something like this? Is it really all about the money and cocktail party invitations? It is of course. There seems to be a good crop among the primary winners. We MUST get as many elected as possible this November and shut this garbage down.

A third grader could be made to understand the effect of taxing a corporation more. Inflate your tires!

First thing we learned in high school economics: Businesses and don't pay taxes, customers do. It is so simple it screams to be taught, yet our schools teach Communism.

"Rewire America" economics...you've got to spend a lot to save a little. And how any of this relates to reducing inflation...I don't see it. #1 has it exactly right.

I ran the calculator. Nada for me. Well, unless I spend tens of thousands of dollars on new, poorly tested new technology, I might get back $13,000 in ten years . But I could be taking a dirt nap at room (or underground) temperature.

So stupid. Go spend $100,000 to get new windows, doors, and insulation in your house and we'll give you a $1200 tax credit; hope you itemize and keep all the receipts since they're about to assign every family their own auditor.

Let's see, feed the kids or take a huge loan out to get windows that cost too much even with a credit. Its time to take these people down.

It would be interesting to find out how they estimated inflation, the present value of future benefits, and lost opportunity costs. I guarantee that the typical buyer would make a greater return remodeling the kitchen and baths than putting similar money into solar panels.

The article at the All Biden Channel (used to be the All Barack Channel) conveniently failed to mention the Extra Cost you will be Paying for Electricity, Food, Gasoline and other items to which this 'Bill' adds taxes.
The 'Inflation Reduction' is only in the title. The 'Rats used that so that they could claim it is a 'financial reconciliation' bill, enabling them to abuse the legislative process and Jam it through the Senate on a 50+1 vote 'Simple Majority' and bypass the Senate Filibuster rules.
