Florida incumbent Sen. Marco Rubio is
shockingly down by four points to challenger
in new poll

Americans are justifiably leery of polls and a new one from the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab is sure to be doubted as it shows Sen. Marco Rubio down by four points to his Democratic challenger, Rep. Val Demings. [Video] Rubio is a strong conservative who is popular in Florida, especially at a time when Democrats across the board are about as palatable to Americans as Rep. Liz Cheney was in the GOP primary in Wyoming this week. With disastrous economic and social policies run amok among Democrats, it is hard to believe Rubio is trailing one in the conservative state of Florida.

Comments:

Still a lot of time before November so I'm not putting much stock in a poll this early. However Rubio cannot relax on this for even an instant.

Sounds like the Democrats are out for revenge in Florida, Rubio is the target, and they are using polls like they did in 2020 against Trump, this time to set up a air of plausibility of Rubio's defeat. I got a feeling he is about to face a hail of election fraud.

This was a poll from a state university, probably done by students. They probably interviewed their professors. The results are predictable - and worthless.

Not a fan of Rubio. Think he is a deep state RINO since he was/is part of the gang of eight. If there was a real alternative, they would have my vote. It's definitely NOT Val Demmings. Whenever her commercials come on TV, I instinctively mock them. Can't stand her.

What #2 said. I remember the 2018 election we had an open seat due to a retiring RINO in TN. The poll that got the most "news" coverage just before the election was one of these university polls that had the race a toss up. The republican won by over 10 points.

I live in Florida. I can tell you I will be very surprised if she beats Rubio. First of all, her Political Ads say nothing about what she has accomplished in Congress (that's because she's done NOTHING). She struts around tooting her Horn about her time in the Police Department and as Chief. Problem for her is this. The Ad Rubio is running has about SIX Police Chiefs and Heads of Police Departments in various Cities here in Florida who are saying Val Demmings voted to DEFUND the Police, She votes 100% with Nancy Pelosi and other not so nice things about Val (all of them true). If those Police Chiefs don't want Val because she will defund OUR Police in Florida, I think people will take a second look at what Val would do as a Senator from Florida! I may not ALWAYS agree with Rubio but he is always on the Side of what is best for our State. That's His Job, and I think he is doing way better than Val would do! She is a dyed in the Wool, Woke Progresive!

The problem is that Rubio is an uninspiring Deep State guy, and has attempted to stab us in the back repeatedly with amnesty bills. NOT a good conservative, or Constitutionalist. So, being a near RINO, he gets lukewarm support from Repubs.

Any Republican worth his or her salt should be running like they're 5 points behind. First, it keeps you sharp. Second, it gives you some cushion because you can expect the Dems to try to steal at least 3-4 percentage points. Like they say, win by more than they can steal.

During the hearing to determine if any of the documents used to get a warrant to raid Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, prosecutors told the judge that the investigation was in its “early stages” and argued to keep all of their documents secret for fear of giving the former president’s lawyers a “roadmap” to their case. Judge Bruce Reinhart said he was inclined to release some of the documents and gave the government one week to come up with a plan to determine which documents would be redacted, released, or remain sealed. “I’m not prepared to find the affidavit should be fully sealed,” he told attorneys for the media,

I remember back when George W. Bush was president and the mainstream media and Democrats (but I repeat myself) would relentlessly dog him whenever he went on vacation as though presidents are ever really “on vacation” whenever they take one. Presidents are, of course, almost always accessible in the event they are needed for official business while they’re on vacation, can make speeches, phone calls, send emails, etc., most anything they can do while at the White House. But there’s a big difference between the supposed leader of the free world taking a break each summer for some downtime and one who is absent from the Oval Office for some “time away”

Florida Man is a whole mood. We’re all used to the “weird news” coming out of Florida. A woman arrested for shaving her private parts…while driving. A man so desperate for a ride to Hooters he calls 911 for help. A dude who parked his smart car in his kitchen so it wouldn’t blow away in a hurricane (Is this whacky or brilliant? That call is up in the air). It’s a late night show punchline at this point. As an aside, one of the reasons we always see these stories coming out of Florida is because they don’t enact the same restrictions on media when it comes to arrests and reporting.

Leftists seem pleased that no lawyers will represent Trump. This is a terrible thing that, as much as anything else, represents the downfall of America under the left’s aegis. The aggressive leftist purge of conservative or just brave attorneys is destroying one of America’s greatest institutions: Every person’s right to have an attorney at his side. In 1770, Redcoats fired on a crowd that had surrounded them, taunting them and pelting them with dangerous projectiles. Five colonists died. The British soldiers claimed self-defense, but the patriots in Boston called it murder. We remember it as the Boston Massacre. What too few Americans know is that the soldiers,

It’s abundantly clear that former Vice President Mike Pence is going to run for president in 2024. He’s been putting in the leg work lately, with a scheduled trip to New Hampshire coming up. He’s also positioned himself as a Trump foil in the mid-term GOP primaries, taking a contrary position to the former president in several states, most recently in Arizona. For my part, I think Pence’s pursuit is delusional. There is exactly one person in the GOP who would be palatable to Trump voters if Trump himself weren’t the nominee, and his name is Ron DeSantis.

One of former President Donald Trump’s strongest and most endearing personality traits is his relentless sense of humor. He’s a very funny guy. Depending on the day’s events and available subject matter, a television interview can come across like a sitcom script, sprinkled amongst some profound takes on political topics, and rants at some of his rallies can rival those of some of today’s best stand-up comedians.
