China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, where the COVID-19 pandemic may have started, conducted work on a deadlier virus with a 60% lethality rate, according to recent Senate testimony. Steven Quay, a medical doctor, told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on emerging threats that the Wuhan institute carried out synthetic biology research on the Nipah virus genome in December 2019, around the time the first COVID-19 cases surfaced in Wuhan.(Snip)“Nipah is a BSL-4 level pathogen and a CDC-designated bioterrorism agent. This is the most dangerous gain-of-function research I have ever encountered. We should assume this research continues to this day

Three American oil scions have been bankrolling mobs of eco-zealots who have terrorized the world by slashing tires, blocking traffic and attacking firms. Aileen Getty, Rebecca Rockefeller Lambert and Peter Gill Case, who are heirs to their families' huge fortunes, are paying the salaries for thugs through their non-profits in an apparent bid to offset their relatives' legacies. Getty, whose grandfather created Getty Oil, has so far splashed out $1million through her California-based Climate Emergency Fund. Lambert and Case, who are both members of the Rockefeller dynasty that founded Standard Oil in 1870, have forked out $30million on The Equation Campaign.

Federal prosecutors this week announced the first indictment under a new law passed by Congress to crack down on gun trafficking in the wake of this spring’s shooting sprees. Said Isaac Hernandez, 25, was nabbed by police as he drove toward the border last month, and authorities say they found 17 pistols hidden inside a panel between the back seats of the Nissan Murano he was driving. Federal investigators said that when they confronted him, he admitted to carrying the weapons and planned to meet with people in Laredo, Texas, where he would turn the guns over to people who would take them into Mexico.

President Joe Biden and his family left Washington Wednesday for a week-long vacation on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Biden's motorcade pulled up to the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews with first lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden and wife Melissa Cohen, and grandson baby Beau Biden in tow. The president was holding his grandson's hand. Baby Beau waved at the military greeter, as the president saluted—while the first lady helped him up Air Force One's stairs.(Snip)The White House has not said how long the Bidens will be on the private island but there are FAA flight restrictions in place through Tuesday. Drivers could face $9 to $23 in fees to drive into parts of Manhattan as soon as late 2023, according to the MTA’s congestion pricing plan that’ll be unveiled Wednesday. The amounts and timeline were detailed in a 34-page summary of the project’s much-delayed environmental review, which was provided to reporters by the cash-strapped agency Tuesday. “The tremendous detail included in this assessment makes clear the widespread benefits that would result from central business district tolling,” said MTA chief Janno Lieber in a statement. “Bottom line: this is good for the environment, good for public transit and good for New York and the region.”

Public health officials are grappling with how far to go in advising gay men to alter their sexual behavior as the monkeypox virus spreads mostly through their social networks but is a threat to anyone. The World Health Organization chief specifically advised gay men to reduce their number of sexual partners, but other health officials, including the health commissioner in New York City, have warned that abstinence messages don’t work.(Snip)The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in recent days updated its guidance to say anyone—not just gay men—can limit their exposure to monkeypox by limiting sexual partners and avoiding “spaces like back rooms, saunas, sex clubs,

The company which farmed out an ICU nurse with her own 'profound' mental health problems is refusing to comment on how she was vetted for the job, as she is charged with murdering six people in a horror car crash last week. Nicole Linton, 37, is in custody in California on six murder charges for killing a pregnant woman, her boyfriend, the woman's one-year-old son, a man and two other women on August 4.(Snip)Her motive remains unclear but her attorney told a judge yesterday she has a 'profound history' of mental health problems which should have stopped her from getting behind the wheel of a car

Children under ten in London are set to be offered polio booster vaccines after the virus returned to the UK for the first time in 40 years. Health chiefs declared a national incident in June after samples of the virus, which in the worst cases can paralyse or even kill, were found at a waste water site in London. A major drive is now expected to be launched by the UK Health and Security Agency to ensure children are vaccinated or receive a booster in the capital.
An announcement about the vaccine rollout is expected this week, including details on which areas will be targeted.(Snip)Children should have five doses

President Joe Biden was noticeably disoriented Monday as he struggled to put his sport coat back on during a visit to Kentucky.
During the trip back to Washington DC, the president traveled aboard Marine One and exited the helicopter at the Lexington airport wearing a mask and his aviator sunglasses. The president paused after exiting to put his sports coat back on but fumbled for several seconds as he tried to get his arms into the sleeves. He finally turned to First Lady Jill Biden for assistance after his arms got tangled. The president, still wearing his mask, finally adjusted his coat successfully but then his aviator sunglasses fell off

Washington, District of Columbia—Former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos told Breitbart News that many in the conservative movement have ignored education for decades, only to recently rediscover the “failings of the system.” “I think by and large, a lot of those in the conservative movement have been rather complacent to what has been actually going on,” she told a roundtable of reporters.(Snip)“Whether it was, you know, extended lockdowns, mask mandates, you know, woke and [critical race theory] curriculum, hyper-sexualized, age-inappropriate curriculum, or just an outright lack of robust academic quality—any or all of those things were really laid bare to families.”

In the summer of 2019, Brittany Hill was 24, and walking with her toddler daughter through Chicago’s Austin neighborhood when a sedan slowly approached, and two men opened fire.(Snip)Using a wide range of stats, Mangual shows that most American violent crime is perpetrated by a small number of criminals—primarily young men with long rap sheets—and that gun violence affects an equally small minority of Americans, mainly in New York, Chicago and other large metro areas. Just two percent of all US counties account for half the nation’s homicides, he writes, and depending on the location as many as 95 percent of the victims are black or Hispanic.
Comments:
Another "talk is cheap" Republican chimes in, maybe looking for another contract. Exactly what did Department of Education secretary Betsy DeVos do to stop the Marxists from dominating the US educational system from the top down, just as they said they'd do back in 1963? Just last month DeVos said the federal Department of Education should not exist, yet while in office she didn't even try to make that happen, or even dial it down. Now she's complaining about what kids are taught in government schools, after handing the keys over to the communists, who were in full command even while she ran the show.
