The company which farmed out an ICU nurse with her own 'profound' mental health problems is refusing to comment on how she was vetted for the job, as she is charged with murdering six people in a horror car crash last week. Nicole Linton, 37, is in custody in California on six murder charges for killing a pregnant woman, her boyfriend, the woman's one-year-old son, a man and two other women on August 4.(Snip)Her motive remains unclear but her attorney told a judge yesterday she has a 'profound history' of mental health problems which should have stopped her from getting behind the wheel of a car

Children under ten in London are set to be offered polio booster vaccines after the virus returned to the UK for the first time in 40 years. Health chiefs declared a national incident in June after samples of the virus, which in the worst cases can paralyse or even kill, were found at a waste water site in London. A major drive is now expected to be launched by the UK Health and Security Agency to ensure children are vaccinated or receive a booster in the capital.
An announcement about the vaccine rollout is expected this week, including details on which areas will be targeted.(Snip)Children should have five doses

President Joe Biden was noticeably disoriented Monday as he struggled to put his sport coat back on during a visit to Kentucky.
During the trip back to Washington DC, the president traveled aboard Marine One and exited the helicopter at the Lexington airport wearing a mask and his aviator sunglasses. The president paused after exiting to put his sports coat back on but fumbled for several seconds as he tried to get his arms into the sleeves. He finally turned to First Lady Jill Biden for assistance after his arms got tangled. The president, still wearing his mask, finally adjusted his coat successfully but then his aviator sunglasses fell off

Washington, District of Columbia—Former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos told Breitbart News that many in the conservative movement have ignored education for decades, only to recently rediscover the “failings of the system.” “I think by and large, a lot of those in the conservative movement have been rather complacent to what has been actually going on,” she told a roundtable of reporters.(Snip)“Whether it was, you know, extended lockdowns, mask mandates, you know, woke and [critical race theory] curriculum, hyper-sexualized, age-inappropriate curriculum, or just an outright lack of robust academic quality—any or all of those things were really laid bare to families.”

In the summer of 2019, Brittany Hill was 24, and walking with her toddler daughter through Chicago’s Austin neighborhood when a sedan slowly approached, and two men opened fire.(Snip)Using a wide range of stats, Mangual shows that most American violent crime is perpetrated by a small number of criminals—primarily young men with long rap sheets—and that gun violence affects an equally small minority of Americans, mainly in New York, Chicago and other large metro areas. Just two percent of all US counties account for half the nation’s homicides, he writes, and depending on the location as many as 95 percent of the victims are black or Hispanic.

Donald Trump says his Mar-a-Lago home has been raided by the FBI.
'These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,' he said in statement Monday night.' 'After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.' It is unclear what the raid is for, what kind of warrant is being executed and what agents are seeking.

The World Health Organization declared monkeypox a public health emergency of international concern in late July—despite the fact its own advisory panel voted 9-6 against the declaration. Shortly after, President Biden declared monkeypox a public health emergency, while Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra assured that the White House was “prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus.” Monkeypox, schmonkeypox. A British supermarket chain is under fire for locking up a makeup product for dark-skinned shoppers while the same line for lighter-skinned women was left without any security measures. Natalie Westgate, a local mother of three, wandered into a Tesco location in West London last week and noticed the disparate security while browsing a shelf lined with Garnier SkinActive BB Cream products.
Westgate posted a photo showing the products that are traditionally marketed to minorities being encased in what appeared to be theft-proof containers. Westgate tweeted: “@tesco can you please explain this? Do white people not steal then? Absolutely disgusting and not to mention racist!!!!”

Oklahoma Sooners assistant football coach Cale Gundy has resigned from his position after he used a “shameful” word during a team meeting. The 50-year-old, whose brother Mike Gundy is the head coach at rival Oklahoma State, released a lengthy statement on social media Sunday night, announcing his resignation and apologizing for using the word, which he says he read off of a player’s iPad.
“I owe it to Sooner Nation to be transparent about what led to this decision: Last week, during a film session, I instructed my players to take notes,” the statement read. “I noticed a player was distracted and picked up his iPad and read

The American Civil Liberties Union is ramping up its battle against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott‘s border security push, filing a new complaint Monday with Homeland Security urging the department to limit how Border Patrol agents are able to work with Texas authorities. Men drink and smoke more than women—but that is not the reason they have a higher cancer risk. A major study suggests biological differences are the real reason behind the disparity between sexes.
Understanding these differences could help to improve prevention and treatment, researchers say. The study looked at 300,000 middle-aged and older Americans who did not have cancer over 15 years. Men were more than twice as likely to develop the disease compared to women—even when lifestyle factors were ruled out.(Snip)The findings, published in the journal CANCER, show 17,951 cancers were detected among men, while just 8,742 were diagnosed among women.

Sen. Lindsey Graham gave credit Sunday to President Biden for several bipartisan legislative accomplishments, such as on infrastructure, gun control and social media. The praise from the South Carolina Republican came as Senate Democrats were advancing their tax and climate spending bill along party lines, a move that has infuriated Republicans amid the highest inflation rate in four decades. “He’s signed things that made sense. The infrastructure bill, the gun thing, we’ve been working on this for years. We sort of found the sweet spot,” Mr. Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”(Snip)Mr. Graham, who was interviewed with Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut Democrat, also offered kind words

Call it border enforcement theater. Texas officials stop Migrants, bring them to the Texas side of the border, and the Border Patrol releases them again. And according to the communists who call the shots in New America, even this violates the civil rights of Migrants, never mind that they have none.
