Taiwan has issued a chilling assessment of China's explosive military tests held around the island this week.
Taiwan said Saturday that China’s military drills appear to simulate an attack on the self-ruled island, after multiple Chinese warships and aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
Taiwan’s armed forces issued an alert, dispatched air and naval patrols around the island, and activated land-based missile systems in response to the Chinese exercises, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said. The island's leadership also announced it detected four unmanned aerial vehicles flying in the vicinity of the offshore county of Kinmen on Friday night and fired warning flares in response.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is set to visit the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone in South Korea as part of her high-profile Asia trip this week, according to reports.
Pelosi arrived in South Korea late Wednesday and is scheduled to visit the area that borders North Korea, according to Agence France-Presse, making her the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the area since former President Donald Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in 2019.

Friends and family arrived for a graduation in May at the University of Denver. We forgot to warn them.
Once a cosmopolitan utopia of clean, safe, family-friendly neighborhoods and parks, Denver now looks and feels like a drug orgy. The stench of marijuana wafts through neighborhoods where a small percentage of family dwellings have transitioned into pot farms. Walking through much of Denver and other Colorado cities, one becomes accustomed to stepping over and around growing numbers of full-time drug users living on sidewalks, parks, medians, and lawns.
The broad-based degradation started when voters approved Amendment 64 in 2012,

Bruce Springsteen has been a wealthy man for a very long time. In 1973 he released his second album, The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle which featured the classic song, Rosalita. Toward the end of the song’s tale about budding romance and the reluctance of a young woman’s father to accept her suitor, Springsteen explains, “And the record company, Rosie, just gave me a big advance!” We bet they did Bruce.
Just two years later, Springsteen burst into superstardom in 1975 with his blockbuster album Born to Run, which resulted in him being one of the first entertainers ever to be featured on

The Republican National Committee will stop covering former President Donald Trump's legal bills if he announces a presidential bid for 2024 too soon, according to reports.
The RNC has paid almost $2 million in legal fees for the former president as he faces different investigations into his financial dealings and conduct during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, a committee official told ABC News. However, those payments will end soon after Trump announces a reelection bid because of the RNC’s policies on maintaining neutrality in elections — meaning if the former president announces a bid too soon, the RNC could stop contributing to his legal costs.

Former CNN host Chris Cuomo is set to join NewsNation as a prime-time host beginning this fall.
The hire was revealed as Cuomo appeared for an interview with NewsNation on Tuesday, his first television appearance since he was fired from CNN last year for his role in helping his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, combat sexual misconduct allegations.
"I want to build something special here," Cuomo said, adding that he does not think he cannot go back to what people see as the "big game" and touted a need for "insurgent media."
A statement from NewsNation was also released.

There is a multitude of remedies for digging an economy out of a recession or avoiding an economic recession altogether. There tends to be, however, a common thread amongst each of these methods. Since conditions that drive a recession typically emerge over long periods of time, it generally takes a comparable amount of time for our government officials and the Federal Reserve to correct our collective course.
If our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is lagging due to certain contributors, for instance, an injection of cash into the economy via government spending can jump-start our economy and push GDP growth back to the positive side of the ledger.

Delaware State Police considered Hunter Biden the victim in an October 2018 incident in which his handgun was discarded in a grocery store trashcan near a Delaware high school, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation into the incident.
No arrests were made as a result of the incident because Hunter declined to press charges against his sister-in-law, Hallie Biden, the source said. Hallie, who was in a tumultuous relationship with Hunter at the time, took Hunter's gun from his car on Oct. 23, 2018, wrapped it in a shopping bag, and threw it in a trashcan outside a

A progressive movement to install liberal activists in district attorney's offices across the country is beginning to backfire, with voters in some cities reconsidering their choices and Republicans in others organizing ahead of the next election .
Liberal billionaire George Soros has sunk millions of dollars over the past several years into boosting candidates that have advocated reforms such as ending cash bail, barring prosecutions of minors as adults, and declining to bring cases against a host of less serious, but frequently disruptive, violations of the law.
Some of the candidates he helped install have presided over severe increases in violence.

We have heard it before, “No, Hollywood is not responsible for America’s unique gun culture.” This is often followed by a “gun grab” narrative. Of course, Hollyweird wants you to believe this – they have a financial interest in doing so.
Others would disagree. Finally, we have one Hollyweird celebrity willing to come out and say so publicly. A recent “Real Time” with Bill Maher’s monologue gave a scathing indictment that Hollyweird has a significant responsibility regarding the cause of gun violence in America. Below are some excerpts from Mahar’s monologue.
“When liberals scream do something after a mass shooting, why aren’t we also dealing

Senate Republicans may yet sink House-passed legislation that would essentially codify federal same-sex marriage rights granted by the Supreme Court in 2015.
But that was far from certain Wednesday as the Senate began informally considering the Respect for Marriage Act, which cleared the House 24 hours earlier with unanimous Democratic support and 47 out of 204 available Republican votes. There immediately appeared to be four GOP votes for the bill, while several other Senate Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, were noncommittal.

For many of us, we never particularly cared for Curt Schilling during his MLB playing days. Schilling played for five different teams – including the much-despised Red Sox and Phillies – and was considered a staff ace for most of his career. Yet while many of us rooted against Schilling and his teams, very few of us ever questioned his skills or tenacity; see Schilling’s 2004 ‘bloody sock’ incident for reference. If we’re being honest, most of us would have loved to have him pitching for our team.
During his career, Schilling was famous as a ballplayer and nothing else. If he ever weighed in on political

Will the Biden Administration oppose this move as well? I guess this is what happens when the grown-ups are in charge.
