Houston Democrats Hosted a Gun Buyback
Event and One Clever Man Took Full Advantage

Over the weekend, Houston's Democrat Mayor Sylvester Turner held a gun buyback event in a church parking lot where residents could turn in their firearms and receive a gift card ranging from $50 to $200 with no questions asked. According to the Mayor's announcement, the funds provided to those turning in firearms came from the American Rescue Plan — aka American taxpayers — and the amount-per-firearm was $50.00 for a non-functioning firearm, $100.00 for a rifle or shotgun, $150.00 for a handgun, and $200.00 for a fully automatic rifle. Heralded as a success by the mayor and hyped up by the liberal Houston Chronicle,

One enterprising fellow 3D printed his guns for $3.00 apiece and made a tidy profit.

If the mayor won't buy them back, then offer to sell them on the streets for $10 apiece. Let's see what the mayor says then. I'm waiting to hear this entrepreneur got a visit from ATF for manufacturing guns without a license and selling them without serial numbers, or somesuch violations of Federal gun laws.

“ Still, Houston's mayor thinks his buyback program will convince criminals and gang members to hand over their firearms for as little as $50.” See Derek Hunter’s article, posted just above.

So, if those printed guns actually work, isn’t the mayor in all of his brilliance just putting them back in circulation by not accepting them? Are printed guns any less lethal than non-printed guns, Mr. Mayor?

And they call these single shot pieces of crap "ghost guns", too. All the phony baloney buzz words get applied. A couple of pieces of water pipe makes a shotgun, too. The Philippinos killed a bunch of Japanese in WW2 with water pipe shotguns, and took their rifles and ammo and used them against other Japanese. This is pure stupid.

I once met a pawnshop owner who would buy broken guns for a token amount, just so he could turn them in at gun buy back programs. He also would take bb guns and turn those in. Then there was a guy who stood outside the turn in locations and would offer more money to people to buy their guns than was being offered by the program. They make liberals feel good, but they don't work.

“I was born a poor black child.” Straight out of Steve Martin’s comedy classic comes Presidentish Joe Biden’s latest campaign pander — or at least, close enough. What a jerk. Everybody knows you never go Full Steve Martin, unless you are actually Steve Martin. I don’t know Steve Martin. Steve Martin is not a friend of mine. But I can still tell you that Joe Biden is no Steve Martin. Thanks to the indispensable Christina Pushaw, we have video evidence of Biden — possibly the whitest man to walk into the Oval Office since Pee-Wee Herman paid a visit to President George H.W. When your whole city’s a toilet, why not embrace it? The D.C. Council is expected to take the first of two votes Tuesday on a massive rewrite of its criminal code. If passed, the bill would eliminate most mandatory minimum sentences, allow for jury trials in almost all misdemeanor cases and reduce the maximum penalties for offenses such as burglaries, carjackings and robberies. Assume that there’ll be a lot more burglaries, carjackings and robberies. Not to mention public urination. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Robert Contee III are pushing back hard on parts of the plan they don’t agree with, and say the council is rushing to beat an arbitrary deadline.

We're seeing the convergence of some dangerous circumstances — a perfect storm, if you will. But it's not a convergence of weather patterns, but problems with the transportation infrastructure. Yet Pete (Buttigieg) is nowhere to be found — at least not anywhere near the problems he's supposed to prevent. Loaded ships are still waiting off the coast of California because there aren't enough trucks that meet the state's emission standards to unload them —

Hold on a second. Is New Hampshire actually in play for Republicans on November 8th? That’s the story from a stunning new poll that shows that Don Bolduc is leading Democrat incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan. Bolduc, a Donald Trump-endorsed candidate, was left for dead after winning the primary, with the assumption being that his negatives were too high and that he couldn’t draw support in a blue state. His fundraising was lackluster, and the national groups have been spending their finite resources in more “competitive” states. Recently, though, it was revealed that Republicans were going back into New Hampshire to make last-minute ad buys for Bolduc,

In 1992, Ross Perot, who ran as a third-party candidate, stripped votes away from George S. Bush and essentially handed Bill Clinton the White House. Eight years later, Ralph Nader siphoned votes from Al Gore, handing the White House to George W. Bush. In other words, third-party candidates don’t often win. Instead, they split the vote of the party to which they are ideologically closest. In the Senate battle in Arizona between the hard-left Mark Kelly and the Trump-endorsed Blake Masters, Marc Victor’s libertarian spot on the ticket was going to hurt Masters. So, Victor withdrew and endorsed Masters. In the rough and tumble, and very expensive, world of American

Donald Trump has been a consistent target of the left for one silly reason or another — either to thwart his political ambitions or as part of a money grab. Now, Hillary Clinton, who paid for the bogus dossier that was used to justify the Obama administration spying on his campaign, wants some of the action. Hillary is reportedly demanding that Trump pay roughly $1 million in legal fees following his unsuccessful lawsuit against her for alleged racketeering — which Hillary’s lawyers called a “political stunt.” On Monday, attorneys for the twice-failed presidential candidate filed a motion in federal court

Their candidates are imploding, and the issues are arrayed against them, so Democrats are getting desperate in the final days before the midterm elections. Polls are trending in the direction of Republicans after horrible debate performances from Democratic candidates such as U.S. Senate hopeful John Fetterman in Pennsylvania. Democrats lied about Joe Biden's mental condition, so it is not a surprise that they would lie about Fetterman’s ability to manage a U.S. Senator’s job responsibilities. Thus, Democrats maintained that Fetterman was recovering nicely from his stroke and could be an effective Senator. This falsehood was exposed during the Oz-Fetterman debate

The polls and early voting numbers have been looking really good for Republicans in Georgia. Gov. Brian Kemp has an easy path to re-election, and the GOP has momentum in other races — including a surprisingly good chance in a congressional district that hasn’t elected a Republican since 1875. One of the key races that the nation is watching is the Senate race between incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and football legend Herschel Walker. Early on in the campaign, Walker earned the label of a “bad candidate,” and his campaign made some missteps early on. He shook up his campaign and started to gain ground. As the election nears,

Surveys often demonstrate Democrats do not know how right-leaning voters think. The repeated “October surprises” launched against Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker are an excellent example of this phenomenon. In recent weeks, two women have come forward to allege that Walker insisted they receive abortions. Walker campaigned on a pro-life platform this cycle and denied both claims. As a pro-life voter in Georgia, there are several reasons why I couldn’t care less about these claims. First, Walker committed to pro-life positions if Georgia elects him to the Senate. Should he fail to follow through, voters can hold him accountable next election. This situation is obviously

The remark is the latest evidence of Barnes's extreme opposition to domestic energy production, which he has attempted to soften on the campaign trail. Here’s hoping that Musk keeps his nerve and reforms Twitter by purging its staff and policies that arrogantly run rough-shod over the First Amendment, based on their delusional belief
