GLOBAL WARMING MYTH: In 1995 The New York
Times Warned that East Coast Beaches Will
Be Gone in 25 Years

On Monday, September 18, 1995, the New York Times wrote an article that claimed: "This, say the scientists, would inundate parts of many heavily populated river deltas and the cities on them, making them uninhabitable, and would destroy many beaches around the world. At the most likely rate of rise, some experts say, most of the beaches on the East Coast of the United States would be gone in 25 years. They are already disappearing at an average of 2 to 3 feet a year." Now twenty-seven years later, the beaches are still here.

"Some experts say" Which "experts"? And exactly what made them "experts"? I can remember Coney Island in the late 1940s - - when the train and trolley fare were 5¢ - - and the shoreline - - over 70 years later - - is still in the exact same place. The Slimes still hasn't apologized for its 1930s hosannas to Stalin - - at a time when he was murdering innocent people by the millions - - so don't expect any retractions for this pack of lies.

Global warming...the myth that just won't go away. I long time ago I read a lucid comment by someone, I've forgotten her name, that went, "If the solution for global warming was lower taxes, fewer regulations and less intrusive government, the issue would vanish." True then, true now!

Have they been right on any projection of what was supposed to happen? Wasn't the "hockey stick" theory proven to be wrong? #1, a point you make is there are many municipal bonds and shoreline projects (i.e. ports) which means they should be mentioning the risks to such projects in their prospectus for investors. Wonder if that is being mentioned in these or not. Agree, they need to communicate who these experts are, present the computer models that are being used to ensure transparency. Bet they don't though.

In 1972 the issue was global cooling. Another ice age was possible according to so called climate experts. A cooling environment would be more devastating to world population than global warming. If the planet either warms or cools it requires the use of more fossil fuel use which the leftists just can't have happen.

I remember when this prediction was being made, and I knew a couple of people who'd bought this BS hook, line and sinker. I asked them to think about it this way: fill a glass with ice, then fill it with water to the brim - when the ice melts, does the glass overflow? They both thought about it and agreed that the glass wouldn't overflow when the ice melted. I told them that's because when water freezes, it displaces more volume than when it's liquid; that's why pipes burst when they freeze. Given the laws of physics, if the polar ice caps all melted, the level of the oceans would go DOWN, not up. They had a really hard time wrapping their heads around it, so they went on to believing that CO2 destroys the atmosphere and forgot about the ice caps.

When I was an elementary school kid, the fear was global cooling. There was an article in the kids' school newspaper called "Scholastic" that scared the heck out of us kids. By the late 1980s, when I was in college, the news was all about the hole in the ozone. Ten years later, it was all about global warming. At some point, it became climate change. This is the non-religious version of the threat of hell to save souls. The difference? Hell exists.

The lead author of the 2007 IPCC fourth summary report on climate Ottmar Edenhofer acknowledged in 2010: "One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world's wealth.". In 2015 IPCC Executive Secretary Christianna Figueres stated the purpose is to: "... intentionally transform the economic development model..." It has nothing to do with climate - it is the "equity" the crazies continue to insist upon.

You know what? I don't like it when EITHER side misinforms the public. Although I understand the point Joe Hoft is making, it's unprofessional and sloppy journalism to make it appear that the NYTimes claimed anything. They didn't. They just wrote and published the article, carefully quoting "scientists" or "experts" who claimed that Earth's warming COULD set off widespread disruptions. Whether or not I'd prefer to see the names of these anonymous sources is a whole different discussion. This GP piece actually shows how much so-called journalism has changed in the past 27 years. Nowadays we are so accustomed to opinion being passed off as news that we have come to EXPECT it! But in the interest of fairness, I really can't go on blasting the left for writing trash and then let GP off the hook entirely. The only purpose in writing that screaming headline is to sensationalize a story from long ago and to make the Slimes appear to be at fault when really, they were just doing their job. When we do cheesy stuff like this, we lose credibility. Is that really what we want right now?

The FBI has sounded the alarm about white supremacists and far-right extremists, but the bureau’s own Top 10 “most wanted domestic terrorists” list includes at least two Communists, three black nationalists, one anti-war activist, and a vegan eco-terrorist. While the diverse roster doesn’t purport to capture the breadth of domestic terror, it seems at odds with federal law enforcement’s claims that white supremacists pose the biggest threat facing the nation. Some skeptics are accusing the bureau of exaggerating the threat by adopting a misleading definition of such ideologies.
