Backfire! Infamous Leak Of Supreme Court
Draft Doomed Roe V. Wade, Sources Say

The conventional wisdom regarding the infamous leak in early May of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s draft version of the majority opinion in the Dobbs V. Jackson case concluded that it was perpetrated by someone on the staff of one of the three leftwing justices: Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Stephen Breyer. The motivation of the leaker, it has been assumed, was that alerting the American public to the upcoming ruling would result in such outrage from the left in America that activists, and their compliant media, would apply so much pressure to those justices in the majority that they would change

Interesting. The leak was unethical and illegal but with the the D'Rats in control of the investigation we'll see an arrest when hell freezes over.

The backfiring includes (for obvious reasons) that but for the leak, it's all but 100% certain the final majority opinion would be considerably different (softer with rounded rough edges) from the leaked draft opinion.

What I got out of this is that Justice Roberts is, indeed, yet another disappointment from Bush. What a weenie.

And the sun will come up tomorrow. No one wants the leaker exposed. It could create all sorts of ugliness for all concerned. Unless it was Breyer or his staff, someone would likely be forced to resign in the uproar. and then there would be an arrest and a trial that could well expose all sorts of things best left in the dark. SCOTUS is a collegial body. That's not going to happen. This is now officially a kerfluffle.

Speaking of leaks, how's that investigation into who leaked it going? When it was announced that the Marshal of the SC was taked to find the leaker, I read several articles stating that she was the right person for the job. The media should be hounding her for answers.

Typically, an incumbent president in their first term in office tends not to be challenged for their party’s nomination in pursuit of a second term, but it’s certainly not unprecedented for such a president to “be primaried.” In these situations, the sitting president is opposed by candidates in their own party and forced to defeat these challengers in the primary elections for the privilege of representing their party in the subsequent general election. In 1992, for instance, President George H.W. Bush was primaried by Pat Buchanan. In 1976, President Gerald Ford was primaried by Ronald Reagan, and perhaps most famously, in 1980

If you want to see grace under pressure, Lee Zeldin is your man. Making a speech, having somebody attack you with a blade, deflecting said blade, and finishing your speech—that’s about as grace-under-pressure-ish as you can get. It’s exactly what Ernest Hemingway had in mind when he used those words, “grace under pressure,” to describe the essence of courage. Furthermore, if you think that liberal anti-law and anti-order policies are a farce, the attack on Zeldin, a Republican member of Congress now running for governor of New York, is your proof. As Breitbart News’ John Binder wrote of the Empire State’s turn ‘em loose policies,

The fact that our Second Amendment right to bear arms is protected, or better stated “shall not be infringed,” is one that irks our friends on the left, perhaps more so than any other Constitutional right. Their attitude tends to be, “Damn you and your rights, we’ll do all the infringing we want.” They typically crank up their volume on such assertions after a tragic school shooting and do their best to ignore episodes that show the benefit of private gun ownership. After two brutal incidents in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York, in May, gun rights opponents were pushing hard on their narrative. Assault weapons are unnecessary, they told us.

A Liberia-flagged tanker carrying about 700,000 barrels of Russian fuel oil arrived in Cuba last week, the Latin American news website Infobae reported on Sunday, noting that the shipment demonstrated that Moscow was not only supporting Cuba’s communist regime but also finding outlets for oil stock shunned by the West in response to Russia’s latest war with Ukraine. “The Liberia-flagged Aframax tanker Suvorovsky Prospect arrived in Cuba’s Matanzas port [on July 14] carrying about 700,000 barrels of fuel oil, loaded at Russia’s Ust-Luga port. The cargo is worth some $70 million at market prices,” Reuters reported at the time.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) released a position paper Monday that inexorably links two claimed global crises as one – “climate change” and the “decline of democracy.” It says fighting the former can save the latter as long as consumers stop burning coal, oil, and gas in exchange for green renewables. The WEF paper argues for the past 15 years, democracy has been in decline worldwide. To protect and promote freedom, “leading democracies must strengthen their economies and safeguard liberty.”

For so many Americans, particularly over the past ten years or so, politics is viewed as some sort of a game. You’re not voters, you’re fans, only the battle isn’t on a baseball field or a hockey rink, it’s within our government. It’s a phenomenon that has become increasingly evident on both sides of the political spectrum but is clearly more prevalent with our friends on the left. Just like we see with our favorite sports teams, so it is with our favorite political party or ideology. Perhaps next to a Georgia Bulldogs National Championship bumper sticker, we see a Biden-Harris decal displayed with equal pride.

Yang rose to prominence with his failed 2020 presidential run as a Democrat, where he promoted Universal Basic Income. The Forward Party will be co-chaired by Yang and former Republican New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. The new party is an amalgamation of three political groups that find themselves disgruntled with America’s increasingly polarized political system.

President Biden said the United States "is not in a recession," despite Thursday's GDP report, saying it is "no surprise that the economy is slowing down" amid inflation. The U.S. economy shrank in the spring for the second consecutive quarter, meeting the criteria for a recession as record-high inflation and higher interest rates forced consumers and businesses to pull back on spending. Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, shrank by 0.9% on an annualized basis in the three-month period from April through June, the Commerce Department said in its first reading of

The U.S. economy contracted in the second quarter of 2022 as the economy was battered by four-decade high inflation, record high fuel prices, soaring food costs, and tighter monetary policy. The government reported Thursday that Gross Domestic Product shrank by 0.9 percent in the April through June period. Economists had expected the economy to grow by 0.3 percent, according to the Wall Street Journal. The economy contracted by 1.6 percent in the second quarter. Many Americans consider two straight quarters of recession to be the marker of a recession. Economists, however, rely on the determination of the National Bureau of Economic Research to say when a recession starts.
