Texas Republicans have sued law firm Sidley Austin and threatened to have its attorneys disbarred because they allegedly paid for staff to travel for abortions after Roe v. Wade was overturned. In a letter that was posted on Twitter, the Republicans demanded that the law firm 'act accordingly' and preserve all of its internal communications with staff to be examined in court. Sidley Austin is a global law firm, headquartered in New York, but which has offices in Dallas and Houston in Texas.

This is a good response to the abortion supporters. I thought of this and think it is a good response. Ya know when you abort a baby it MAY be TRANS. You could be killing a TRANS/GAY person. THAT means dems are killing TRANS/GAY people. (THE HORROR). So dems are TRANSFOBIC and GAY PHOBIC because they are causing Trans/Gay people to never exist. Killing them even before they are born. They will never get the chance to ride around on a bike naked in a gay parade. Oh the injustice.

Paying for staff to have an abortion is a business decision: it is cheaper to pay for an abortion than maternity leave.

I don’t know. Is it really helpful to start another war now? It sounds like the foetus is dead after the first pill. Or is the theory attack further in the aftermath of the initial victory? Certainly the dims are undeserving of compromise and compromise with the dims never pays. But i am for a cooling off period and a transition period at least.

I am pro life but this is crazy. A legitimate basis for a lawsuit would be the law firm’s refusal to pay for the birth of the baby and only pay for abortions

Obviously the lawyers never thought of is what happens when something goes wrong and the woman is injured or killed during the abortion. That would open the door to a major lawsuit against the employer.

I have read a hundred posts on this forum decrying the lack of consequences for evil left wing behavior. Many of these posters blame this lack of accountability on the timidity of Republican leaders. Please note that with this lawsuit against Sidley Austin, some Republican leaders are giving it back to the leftists, as good as the leftists have been dishing it out, so please re-consider whether or not you are fairly calling these Texas Republicans crazy and unhelpful.

Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh refused to back down after pro-abortion supporters were angered by his pro-life comments last week. Harbaugh appeared as the keynote speaker at the July 17 Plymouth Right to Life dinner and auction at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan, where he asserted that America needs more respect and civility in political discussion especially where it concerns abortion. “I believe in having the courage to let the unborn be born. I love life. I believe in having a loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science are what drive these beliefs in me,” Harbaugh said during his address.

An intelligence analyst behind the FBI’s botched Trump-Russia collusion probe is now accused of using the bureau’s authority to discredit reports about Hunter Biden’s criminal activity months before the 2020 presidential election. Meet Brian Auten. The FBI analyst is hardly a household name, but whistleblowers who contacted the office of GOP senator Chuck Grassley say he was behind an August 2020 report that FBI officials used as part of a "scheme…to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation." Auten’s report also caused the FBI "to cease" investigative activity into the younger Biden, according to a letter Grassley sent the Justice Department and FBI.

Last week, Michigan’s Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer vetoed funding for maternity homes, adoption tax credits, and other budget items that assist pregnant women. While post-Dobbs, Whitmer and her fellow Democrats seek to conceal the party’s pro-abortion agenda by pushing state courts to institute the extreme abortion regime they demand, in striking from the budget any spending that has a semblance of supporting the choice of life, Whitmer exposes her party’s abortion-first position.

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin suggested that abortion bans in some states could actually violate religious beliefs in a column on Sunday. Rubin introduced the subject by referencing a lawsuit brought up by the Jewish Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor against the 15-week abortion ban in Florida. The congregation argued that Jewish law "does not consider life to begin at conception or at 15 weeks" and refusing an abortion could violate their beliefs. Though Rubin questioned whether this would sufficiently infringe on "First Amendment rights and the state constitution’s free-exercise clause," she still considered the issue "important." "In any event, this is an issue the forced-birth crowd should care about."

Everywhere I go these days, the question I seem to hear most often is, "What’s wrong today? Why the violence, the shootings, the divisions, the vitriol in our nation, our cities, our society?" I’m hardly the only one getting such questions: other spiritual leaders, teachers, politicians, parents and pundits tell me that they ask and get asked the same all the time. I listen intently to the answers given to that plea by so many respected voices in the country. Most will rattle off the usual suspects: it’s the lousy economy, some opine; it’s all the political strife that drives us apart, others might suggest.
