A Yonkers man confessed to fatally stabbing a homeless man after a random sex hookup in Prospect Park early Monday, police sources said. Anthony Dejesus, 28, called 911 at 2:30 a.m. allegedly admitting he knifed his partner in an area called the Vale of Cashmere—known as a cruising spot. Miguel Andrews, 37, was found clinging to life with stab wounds to his arms and upper body.(Snip)Dejesus, of Yonkers, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Andrews was homeless, police said. The Vale, a lush patch of the park that attracts bird-watchers, has been a dangerous spot for years.

New York gubernatorial hopeful Rep. Lee Zeldin was nearly stabbed at a campaign rally in Fairport, New York, a small town just outside of Rochester. The Republican was in the midst of a speech about bail reform as part of his 'United to Fire Hochul' campaign when he was confronted. A group of Zeldin supporters subdued the attacker. The man who took down Zeldin's would-be assailant was named as AMVETS national director Joe Chenelly, reports Rochester First. Hunter Biden could reportedly be charged by the Justice Department for tax violations and lying to law enforcement about illegally purchasing a firearm, as the probe into President Joe Biden’s son comes to a head.
Trump-appointed U.S. prosecutor David Weiss is deliberating whether to charge Hunter for “making a false statement in connection with Biden’s purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited from doing so because of his acknowledged struggles with drug addiction,” CNN reported Wednesday.

In a story covered internationally, the "Central Park Karen" called the police on a black gay man who threatened to poison her dog while he was loitering in "the great fruited plain" area of Central Park, a gay cruising spot described to the public as being popular for "bird watching." My suspicion was that his real beef was not the off-leash dog but that she interrupted his cruising; the story was recast as an example of White people overreacting to the antics of black people, and the woman was demonized and fired from her job. Lo and beyond, here's another NY park with a gay cruising area known for bird watching. Amusing also that the Daily News did not assign this one to its staff LGBTQI+ reporter; we can't get the wrong idea.
