Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAiD) law is already the most permissive euthanasia and assisted-suicide legislation in the world.
Understandably controversial in itself, there are many horror stories surrounding its implementation. For example, as lifesitenews.com recently reported,
A 71-year-old widower was admitted to a Southwestern Ontario hospital after a fall. His family says during his admission he contracted an infectious diarrheal illness. He was humiliated by staff for the smell of his room, his family said. He developed a new shortness of breath that was not comprehensively assessed. In this context, a hospital team member suggested he would qualify for MAiD.

Some of the country’s bluest cities say they are filling up with illegal immigrants and need federal cash to help them accommodate everyone.
New York Mayor Eric Adams made his plea Tuesday. He said his city has had more than 2,800 “asylum seekers” entering homeless shelters in recent weeks.
“We are calling on the federal government to partner with New York City as we help asylum seekers navigate this process, and to provide financial and technical resources,” he said in a statement asking Uncle Sam for the handout.

The House on Tuesday night voted 267 to 157 to pass a bill that would recognize same-sex marriage in federal law. Forty-seven Republicans joined all Democrats in sending the Defense of Marriage Act to the Senate where it faces a tougher challenge of getting through. The vote came amid concerns that the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade abortion access could jeopardize other rights.(Snip)Liz Cheney, GOP conference chair Elise Stefanik and NRCC chair Tom Emmer were among members of their party to cross the aisle. Scott Perry of the Freedom Caucus and Nancy Mace, who is facing a tough midterm, also sided with Democrats.

Mehmet Oz, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania endorsed by former President Donald Trump, claimed the “MAGA movement is dying” in a fundraising message sent to his supporters. Oz won Pennsylvania’s GOP Senate primary by a narrow margin with the help of Trump’s endorsement. The former president claimed that Oz “will be the one most able to win the General Election against a Radical Left Democrat looking to do unthinkable harm to our Country.” Now, Oz is reportedly fundraising by warning his supporters that the “MAGA movement is dying.”

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Beat,” Senate Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) responded to Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) inflation concerns on climate legislation by stating that climate is “an emergency” that “We have to do everything that we can” about, and this is “more important than any current economic statistics” like inflation.
Host Ari Melber asked, “Is the global macro inflation a reason not to do something on climate right now? How do you work with your colleague there when sometimes his reasons don’t really match what’s happening?”

Washington, D.C. Mayor Bowser mentioned Sunday on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” that her city is being overwhelmed by migrants being bussed to her city and called on the federal government to provide more resources to accommodate that, as RedState’s Nick Arama reported.
“This is a very significant issue. We have called on the federal government to work across state lines to prevent people from really being tricked into getting on buses. We think they’re largely asylum-seekers or going to final destinations that are not Washington, D.C.,” Bowser told CBS News.
“But I fear that they’re being tricked into nationwide bus trips

Yesterday, most mainstream media outlets reported that a number of Democrat representatives — including "Squad“ members, were arrested outside the Supreme Court following protests against the Court's recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., a.k.a. AOC, was among those arrested for blocking traffic. Reps. Barbara Lee of California, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Cori Bush of Missouri, Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, Nydia Velazquez of New York, Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, and Andy Levin of Michigan were among the other legislators arrested.
The Capitol Police said they had arrested 35 people, including 17 members of Congress, for "crowding, obstructing or incommoding."

The carnage at Netflix keeps getting worse. On Tuesday, the far left-wing streamer revealed that it lost close to 1 million subscribers in the second quarter — the largest quarterly loss of customers in the company’s history.
Still, shares of Netflix jumped more than 10 percent in after-hours trading because the bad news wasn’t half as bad as investors had expected.
Netflix reported 970,000 customers quit the service during the quarter, a continuation of the mass subscriber exodus that began earlier this year. Netflix had forecast a net loss of 2 million subscribers for the second quarter, while analysts were expecting a loss of 1.4 million to 1.8 million.

To hear Washington Post columnist Perry Bacon tell it, Joe Biden’s low approval ratings aren’t due to his ludicrous policies, his failed leadership, or his cockamamie worldview.
Joe Biden isn’t very popular because of the way the mainstream media is covering him.
The lack of self-awareness notwithstanding, Bacon blames the media because its “flawed coverage model of politics and government is bad for more than just Biden — it results in a distorted national discourse that weakens our democracy. The media needs to find a different way to cover Washington.”

Numerous women have spoken about their regrets over having children, with some saying the 'hate' motherhood, and others revealing they don't like their kids.
The reluctant parents, from around the world, have shared their stories anonymously in a Facebook group called I Regret Having Children.
Those who have posted in the group opened up about the social pressure to have children, as well as pressure from loved ones, the struggles in caring for kids with developmental disorders, and their own mental health battles.

New York City’s homeless shelters are being overrun with asylum-seeking migrants as the immigration crisis at the southern border worsens—with nearly 3,000 arriving in recent weeks, Mayor Eric Adams warned Monday. Adams called on President Biden to send “additional federal resources immediately” so the city can handle the overflow.
“If we do not get these urgently needed resources, we may struggle to provide the proper level of support our clients deserve, while also facing challenges as we serve both a rapidly growing shelter population and new clients who are seeking asylum,” Adams said in a prepared statement. Adams said the illegal immigrants included families “arriving on buses

Who didn’t see THIS coming?
As if everything on the planet isn’t already racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, misogynistic, or other such nonsense, a new controversy is brewing among anthropologists about archeologists identifying ancient human remains by gender. No, you haven’t accidentally stumbled over to The Babylon Bee.
Before we continue, let’s revisit a couple of definitions, according to Merriam-Webster:
Archeology: the scientific study of material remains (such as tools, pottery, jewelry, stone walls, and monuments) of past human life and activities; remains of the culture of a people.
Anthropology: the science of human beings, especially: the study of human beings and their ancestors through time and space
