Minority neighborhoods in Denver have

DENVER — Minority neighborhoods make up more than half of all acreage in Denver, but they account for less than a third of the city's tree canopy, a 9Wants to Know investigation found. Neighborhoods with fewer trees are hotter, which is significant as the world warms. In the 10 Denver neighborhoods with the most tree cover, the majority of residents are white. Only one of the top 25, Harvey Park South, is a neighborhood that is not mostly white. Meanwhile, minority neighborhoods make up 13 of the 25 worst neighborhoods for tree canopy cover. 9Wants to Know compared Denver's 2020 tree

Comments:

And whose fault is this? Denver has a black mayor and Colorado is controlled by liberal Democrats from top to bottom.

So go plant a tree on your property. Can I assume you want a government program to instruct and help you wipe after you use the bathroom? Take care of your own responsibilities. I can't handle much more of this "wimpy, whiny, victim mentality". Stop the stupid.

Ya don't have to be white...or Rich, to plant a tree. Then keep it going until it can grow on it's own. What "poor" (in spirit) people lack is a concept of planting, rather than merely Reaping. Particularly the concept of planting something that YOU personally will not benefit from, perhaps in your lifetime, be it fruit, nuts, lumber...or just Shade. Whether it will grow slow, or because YOU don't plan on staying in that particular place long...the poor side of town is often people who plan on moving on to someplace better, leaving nothing behind that might make THIS place better, hell the poor side of town people don't even pick up their own trash...let alone someone else's,the only "Fresh Paint" you see is new graffiti., There is a spiritual, internal poverty that precedes the financial. "People shouldn't waste a moment talking about 'What creates Poverty', nothing does..it is the default position , the start point, and is only the End Point for those that never ask 'What creates Wealth', and attempt to do just that"

As I recall, Build Back Better would have included 50 billion dollars for inner city trees. Imagine what that 50 billion dollars could have done for inner city charter schools. Let's hope Denver thinks about education before they hire the equity arborists.

When I moved in to my first home...no trees anywhere. I planted a fir, a maple, an oak, a walnut, an apple and a redbud. The oak is now about 50 ft tall, strong and beautiful and shades my front yard wonderfully. The others are all doing well, too, except for the apple which has it's problems. I bought them, planted them, watered them and fertilized them for decades. Drop dead whiners.

I have a shocking piece of information. Did you all know that trees produce SEEDS? One could, for FREE, gather up seeds and plant them at absolutely no cost. Sure, getting a full sized tree will take a few extra years than dropping a few dollars at Home Depot for a young tree. Here's another shocking piece of information. You don't have to plant a tree or seeds. Wait long enough and nature will do it for you. How do you all think those forests came into existence? Heavy Sarcasm Off..... Isn't creation Grand!! You can be poor as dirt and still plant a tree.

When I moved into my very first home years ago I planted several oak, pear and pine trees. Note a post hole digger is awesome. It took a lot of work and care but now my back yard looks full and green. If you care enough you’ll do what you need to do to get things done. To bad some people don’t think that way. Especially my fellow Blacks who voted for Biden.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday differed with Saudi Arabia in their account of discussions at a bilateral summit about the 2018 murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a major point of contention between the two countries. (Snip) Asked whether the minister of state for foreign affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, was telling the truth in recounting the exchange between Biden and the crown prince, the president said "No". Jubeir said the crown prince, known as MbS, had told Biden the kingdom had acted to prevent a repeat of mistakes like Khashoggi's killing and that the United States had also made mistakes.

Three months ago in our quarterly list of the top 10 most likely Democratic candidates for president in 2024, we changed things up. But that scenario seemed to be growing more likely, so we decided to also include Biden on the list. The reason: There might come a time when the incumbent president isn’t the most likely nominee the next time around, for whatever reason. And his

President Joe Biden finds himself far underwater with voters, facing foreign crises and increasingly scary inflation figures — all of which attract comparisons to America's 39th president, Jimmy Carter. Carter is perhaps the president most closely associated with high inflation, and thanks to a legacy that includes a stiff 1980 primary challenge and a decisive reelection loss to Ronald Reagan, he's a president to whom no White House Democrat wants to be compared. "High inflation and rising gas prices are economic numbers that make people nervous, which tends to bring down presidential approval ratings — all of that is similar," said Robert
