The president of the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation filed an ethics complaint over a prominent Democrat, accusing the congresswoman of damaging the reputation of a gun rights researcher.
Kevin Roberts, president of the organization, said parts of California Rep. Katie Porter’s line of questioning in a June 8 Oversight committee hearing should be retracted over her alleged intentions to defame a GOP witness. “I would love for the committee to reprimand the representative for doing what she did,” Mr. Roberts told Fox News Digital. “I think at the very least there needs to be an apology. There needs to be a … retraction in the official record of that exchange.”

President Biden raised eyebrows Friday when he compared the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians to the conflict between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland—a remark many saw as a swipe at two key US allies, Israel and the United Kingdom. “My background—the background of my family is Irish American,” Biden said near the beginning of his remarks at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem. “And we have a long history not fundamentally unlike the Palestinian people, with Great Britain and their attitude toward Irish Catholics over the years, for 400 years,” the president continued.(Snip)“Nothing to see here, just our ‘foreign policy expert’ president insulting

For the third straight year, homicides are up across Atlanta. Authorities have investigated 85 cases through mid-July, up from 79 this time last year. The uptick comes amid a city-wide increase in gun violence that started in the summer of 2020. The trend is not unique to Atlanta, and city leaders have taken a number steps to combat the deadly surge. “Gun violence is out of control and we’re going to put an end to it here in Atlanta,” Mayor Andre Dickens said

Former Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA), who owes roughly $220,000 in attorney fees to two news outlets and two conservative journalists after an unsuccessful lawsuit in a California state court, has filed for bankruptcy, the Los Angeles Times reports. In 2019, the openly bisexual Hill resigned in disgrace after reporters uncovered she was engaged in a “throuple” relationship with her former husband, Kenny Heslep, and Morgan Desjardins, one of her former staffers. In the weeks leading up to Hill’s resignation, the Daily Mail and Red State covered Hill’s “throuple” and published nude photographs of the former congresswoman brushing another woman’s hair. These photographs and reports caused the House Ethics Committee

Congressional lawmakers have called on Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark A. Milley to respond to reports that he cut off the statutory chain of command at the end of President Trump’s term, undermining civilian control of the military. Gen. Milley told lawmakers last year at a congressional hearing that he contacted his Chinese counterpart two times to tell him that the U.S. had no plans to attack China. Rep. Jim Banks, Indiana Republican, said in a speech that Gen. Milley must “set the record straight.” “General Milley is accused of secretly seizing the president’s military powers.(Snip)The book also recounted how Gen. Milley directed senior military officers

Chelsea, Manhattan—The New York City Health Department confirmed more than 14,000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine have arrived in the city. Vaccination sites will now expand to all five boroughs, as well. Currently, there are 389 confirmed cases of the disease across New York City. However, the Department of Health said there are likely more cases that have not been diagnosed. The vaccine expansion comes as LGBTQ+ advocates are calling for more equitable vaccine outreach. One monkeypox patient, Kyle Planck, had the disease on his radar long before the city’s health alert.(Snip)The treatment for monkeypox—tecovirimatt—is stockpiled by the United States in case of bioterrorism.

A repeat shoplifter who even soft-on-crime DA Alvin Bragg thinks should be behind bars was busted again this week—less than a month after he was released thanks to New York’s controversial bail reform laws. Lorenzo McLucas, 34, was nabbed Wednesday at a Target on the Upper East Side, with Vaseline and lotions worth $80 on him, police sources told The Post. Cops charged him with petit larceny and possession of stolen property. McLucas—who already had more than 120 busts under his belt—was also slapped with charges for six other thefts that took place between May 6 and June 9, all at Manhattan Targets.

An American judge vacationing in Rio de Janeiro hired two prostitutes before he was kidnapped and held for ransom by two men who were posing as police officers. The magistrate, whose name has not been released by Brazilian authorities, arrived in the tourist hot spot July 3, according to police reports. The judge said he had known the two women, identified as Shayna Monteiro and Beatriz Freitas, from his previous trips to Rio de Janeiro. He reached out to the women and invited them Monday to an apartment he rented out in the Copacabana sector.(Snip)Once inside the apartment, da Silva and dos Santos claimed that the women were underage
Comments:
Systemic racism and common-sense gun control on display for all to see. The police recognized Da’Torrance and Antonio Dewayne by watching the video, probably also through systemic racism if not outright toxic masculinity.
