Russian gas cutoff

French President Emmanuel Macron warned his country’s people Thursday to prepare for a total cutoff of Russian natural gas by supporting alternatives, having public lights switched off at night and engaging in a period of nationwide energy “sobriety.” The Russian invasion of Ukraine and ensuing sanctions have aggravated other factors driving up prices for energy and others goods. With no end in sight for the Ukraine war, Macron said, the French should brace themselves for costs to remain high.
“This war will continue,” he said in a televised interview marking France’s national holiday, Bastille Day. “The summer, early autumn will be very hard.”

Maybe the western nations shouldn't have provoked Russia in the first place, by pressing expansion of the highly profitable NATO alliance (in which USA funds defense of Europe, even now), and by placing our germ warfare labs on Ivan's doorstep.

European "leaders" and I use that term very loosely, simply assumed that they could continue their "bargain with the devil" as they blithely virtue-signaled their hop-on-board the Green New Scam. Fossil fuels BUILT the prosperity of the West, and as of now there IS NO SUBSTITUTE. So to declare an intentional decoupling of something that you are ABSOLUTELY DEPENDENT upon, and leave your nation to the whims of RUSSIAN LEADERSHIP, is the height of stupidity: enter Europena "leaders."
BIden (Captain Demento) is in a class of stupidity and cognitive decline all by himself. THANKS American voters and fraudmeisters.

The summer and early autumn will not be hard on Macron, or any of the government officials, all of whom will keep on using energy just as they have in the past.

It takes a real fool to put the energy security of your country in the hands of your enemy.
Or is that a traitor, not just a fool?

Energy “sobriety.” Having lights at night is like drunkenness huh? And heat in winter is like DUI, huh?
What a leader.

Europe, I don't know which part of stupid your European Commission and member state governments put you in this situation. The "Stu" or the "pid".
Maybe get a hold of Erthel Merkel and I am sure she/he/it can shed some light on this. We see already that the German government is organizing plans to house the less-advantaged in stadiums, school gymnasiums, and convention centers so they don't freeze to death this coming winter.

The U.S. has in excess of 2,926 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of proven and technically recoverable natural gas resources. At the current rate of consumption, these resources would provide the U.S. with enough natural gas for more than 100 years. The green weenies have a goal of 100% renewable energy by the year 2050. If that is the goal then we have more than enough natural gas to share.

L.O.L. President Trump warned all these morons in 2017 not to become dependent on Russian Energy. Welcome to the Great Reset. Macron is part of the World Economic Forum. The E.U. will fall first. Look at Sri Lanka. Greenies are now starving. Not pretty.

What is the status of the East Mediterranean gas pipeline?
This pipeline would take natural gas from Israeli gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean and pipe it along the sea floor to a destination in western Europe.
My understanding is that either it was in planning, or being constructed, then Biden somehow put the Kabosh on it, making our allies in Western Europe totally dependent on Russia for natural gas.
Talk about another (Dumb or Evil?) move by The HairSniffer.
By the way, was that one of the things the Russians obtained in exchange for the million$ that they gave Crak-Head Hunter?
Anyone with any knowledge, please chip in!

This is why you never sit down and play cards or dice with the Devil .... he always cheats! And you will never win.
Europe deserves everything that is happening to it: The Euro is now priced lower than the inflated US dollar, there will soon be food riots and now no energy. Freeze in the dark while hungry! Great leadership. And we thought China Joe was bad!

Maybe Macron should encourage Renault to develop nuclear powered cars? Either that, or the French should re-invigorate their Colonialism roots and colonize Nigeria to take their oil and gas.

#2, France didn’t shutdown its nuclear power. It will suffer far less than its neighbors, Italy and Germany, which did get rid of their nuclear plants.
As to Russia the Europeans must discard the insane American plan to keep the war going forever. Biden wants the war to continue so he can blame someone for the results of his disastrous policies. Republican warmongers like Lindsey Graham want it continue in the vain hope that the voters won’t notice that both parties are doing nothing to help Americans.

In keeping with the Davos new world order...the world will suffer all kinds of cut backs to forward their climate control edicts...not a surprise...power and control is their game...I'm sure that a new virus will appear to keep peasants frightened and complying with their wishes...and Obama put in a massive butane tank to cover his posterior during the crisis...it's back to not for me...but for thee...he'll be nice and cozy....but WE must suffer...

Yes, Europe was/is stupid. But if we're so smart then why are we letting the exact same disaster (collapse of our energy grid due to premature and foolish green energy policies) happen here?
OK, OK, I've got it...we're too polite to raise a fuss until it actually hits us.
