Negotiations for a new national contract between the parties in the National Railway Labor Conference entered their third year in 2022. This is the group made up of Class I railroad management representatives and railroad union officials responsible for defining the new terms. The process has progressed to the end of the tracks. The parties are in a 30-day cooling-off period prescribed by the Railway Labor Act (RLA). The period ends July 18. In anticipation, some unions are taking a strike authorization vote.
On Tuesday, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) announced that 99.5% of their participating members voted to authorize a strike.

Dementia Joe drove a locomotive one summer back in the 70s, doncha know. It was for the Corn Pop Railroad. He got to blow the whistle and wear the hat and everything.
I wonder if Lennox used "asleep at the switch" intentionally, since the expression comes from railroading.

Where's Butt Pete? Isn't he the Secretary of Transportation? He's just as responsible. Butt Pete will not be able to claim that the trains are running, at all.

Ignoring one coming crisis after another is planned destruction by the democrat party. They are serious about the great reset and this is another opportunity for them to hasten it along.

The railroads stop hauling, we are in deep economic trouble. Inflation and shortage will be on steroids compared to now. Because things can get so much worse, I have no doubt Diaper Joe and the administration will do everything in their power to ensure a long devastating strike.

Here it comes, Atlas is Shrugging. Do you have enough food in your basement to sustain you for a while and enough ammunition to defend it? If not, you know what you need to do.

If you think this isn't serious, ponder the amount of goods in a mile-long container train or trailer train. Now imagine none of those trains. For those of us old enough, remember NO planes in the sky after 9-11? Imagine none of those trains for weeks.

It's amazing how much oil is moved via RR tankers...$$ to Buffet of course and a strike would further impact our oil shortage..one wonders......

Peter the Homosexual is not a tranny! He remains a sexually confused man, but he doesn't wear dresses. #14, you owe an apology to the trannys of the world. And the homosexuals.
On a more serious note, and without launching into a labor relations lecture, the Railway Labor Act was passed around 1920, and covers railroads and airlines. (hat was always a test question back in my teaching days. 'True or False - the RLA covers airlines.'
But I digress.
The RLA, unlike the Wagner Act and Taft Hartley act, covering most of the rest of the private sector, was written to provide heavy government intervention in labor disputes. Therefore, nothing taking place right now is surprising to me.
I suggest that the dispute will be settled, not withstanding the fact that Peter the Homosexual is Transportation Secretary, and appears to be totally incompetent. But then I can't identify one cabinet secretary in this administration who could be deemed competent.

I predicted in February 2021 that Biden's fascist Democrat handlers would restrict oil recovery and interrupt interstate transportation. The s___hole cities that manipulated votes for the installation are about to understand what KARMA means.

Part of me says this administration wants this. They can then blame shortages, inflation, hunger on those greedy rail way workers or fill in the blank. It is never their fault, so they say. And as #8 said, it only hastens the Great Reset.
Trump won in 2020 and FJB!!

There was a similar strike in Canada and CP Rail settled after two days. Let's hope ours is this short.

Not to worry folks. Biden, Buttgigger and Cuffy Meigs are meeting with Jim Taggart right now to figure out how to keep the trains running efficiently and effectively. Sure, Dagny Taggart has disappeared and Eddie Willers is out sick, but the 'Big Guy' and his friends will take care of everything.
Y'all are worrying over nothing.
