A Uvalde police officer has come under scrutiny after new security footage from the Robb Elementary School shooting shows him checking his phone with what appears to be a “Punisher” lock screen.
The horrifying video—which was released Tuesday by the Austin American Statesman—filmed the cop in the hallway of the elementary school during the active shooting pulling out his phone, which flashed the logo on the screen of the Marvel anti-hero, Newsweek reported. “The cop at #Uvalde holding back and checking his phone, which features an American flag punisher background is the perfect summation of modern day American policing,” tweeted Matt Karolian.
I was aghast to see one of them clean his hands with the school disinfecting foam, and another wearing latex gloves. Seems their own safety was the only thing on their minds!!!!
It was just disgusting to watch, and should make us all realize that we need to be prepared to protect ourselves.

How the police acted is an entirely different story than this guy's phone Lock Screen image.
He likes a popular comic character. So what? Someone was really short on content if this was a "story" worth publishing.

This pretty much sums up the image, they are just donut eaters and coffee drinking hounds. All those armed men, losers to a 19-year-old untrained shooter. Cowards. Real men had to do the work of these police by-standers only after children and teachers were killed.

Agree 100% They are Johnny on the spot for revenue collection, but perish forbid they actually do their jobs.
Paychecks, promotions, and pensions all come before you. Remember, their #1 job is to go home at the end of their shift, not to actually protect you and yours.
See how fat all these bastards are? So many donuts, BBQ, and free tacos. They couldn't make 50 yards chasing a perp. Fire them all and throw them out of Texas. We have no use for their kind.

The whole department should be fired and run out of town. I don't see how anyone of them can look at themselves in the mirror.?

So, we have a cop playing with his phone, and another with no gun drawn but loading up his hands with sanitizer waiting over an hour listening to gun shots that are killing children and doing nothing. I think Uvalde would a safer place without any of these people as police officers.

I'm not convinced that actually is the “Punisher” lock screen. If you bring up an image of one in a different tab and compare them, you'll see they don't match well. It's beside the point, anyway. The point is that the cops stood around checking their phones while children were being murdered.

I'm not certain that is a Punisher screen..It looks like a pic of the hallway they are in...with a couple of lines under it, what exactly they are? No clue. He doesn't scroll past the 1st screen...isn't using the phone for anything else.
Isn't that the same cop whose daughter was killed? Later had to be restrained by other cops?

It was the guy's lock screen image, not the app he checked. This "story" (really just a few photos with captions) seems to create the impression that the cop in question stopped to play a mobile game in mid-crisis. And a bad-guy game at that.
There's already enough damning material about the Uvalde police for this incident. This article is trying to pile on, and not making a mountain out of a mosquito bite.

In a prevous life some time back when I heard gunshots my instinct was to head in that direction using trees, cars or anything useful for cover but still heading forward. Maybe police academies are teaching something different these days or perhaps Uvalde police value personal safety and loyalty to their cell phones over anything else.

A proud moment in Trans American history. The cops are pretty darned brave when removing parents from school board meetings, or enforcing mask mandates, or writing traffic tickets.
