Gov. Gavin Newsom is pushing back on criticism and news stories about his family vacation to visit his in-laws in Montana for the Fourth of July. A law then-Gov. Jerry Brown signed in 2016 bans taxpayer-financed travel to Montana and other states with policies that discriminate on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation. Among countless state and national headlines blasting the governor's visit to his in-law's ranch, FOX News dubbed it the latest example of Newsom "flouting his own state laws." But some key details were overlooked, or dismissed, in the frenzy, Newsom said. “My frustration with the

California bans travel to Montana, Governor. The statue is explicit, and the law applies especially to you, as you are a state employee, and are always on the clock. It is atrocious how you led your security detail into flouting the law.

Technically he is correct the exemption "the protection of public health, welfare or safety," and a Governor does get protection when he leaves the state. But, it just the type of loophole, lawyers and D''Rats love to exploit. Just another "it's good to be the King" moment for our politicians that never seem to be feeling our pain.

Right you are, #6. The laws that apply to Californians do not necessarily apply to him. It's how AOC is trying to get away without paying her taxes, or how Pelosi isn't investigated for insider trading, or how the Biden's don't have a microscope up their collective @sses (like Trump and his family did) even though everyone knows Joe had his hand out for graft in every single piece of legislation he ever had....I've said it before and will say it again: the Democrats are the most successful crime syndicate in the history of the world.

Democrats are facing their worst political environment in over a decade heading into November’s mid-term elections. The correlation between presidential approval and their party’s mid-term prospects also can’t be ignored. Joe Biden has hit the lowest poll numbers of his term, with a recent Times/Siena poll showing him at just 33 percent approval with only 13 percent believing the country is on the right track.
