My abuelos, who were Democrats, raised me to live the American dream in my hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. My grandfather spent his days digging ditches to provide for my schooling, put food on the table and keep me clothed. From there, I worked hard and excelled in my studies so that I was able to go to college, graduating from New Mexico Tech with a degree in environmental engineering.
Now, I'm running for Congress – as a Republican. I'm not alone among my fellow Latinos in moving from a Democratic past to a Republican present.

She doesn't specify whether her abuelos were born here, in Mexico or arrived on the UFO. In any event they seem to have done a great job raising her and instilling common sense values. FJB

According to her bio, Ms. Johnson is a practicing woman: 'She lives in Santa Fe with her husband, Christopher, and their four children.'

"...while making sure we advocate for approving oil and gas production permits...." she needs to learn that permits are really just another tax and taxes should be lessened in order to make America more prosperous

A degree in environmental engineering? Perfect, Just what we need. Another environmentalist playing God with our country. They have such a good track record already.

Not the only Latino/a leaving the democrats and moving onto the Trump train...welcome aboard....the chineses are losing control of their buddies in Washington...their payoffs to the biden crime family will be of no use because real Americans know WE are at war with china...they sent the china virus out on the world to control the peasants....and thin out the herd...in other words...power and control..their peasants have been bullied and "managed" for years...now they think they can manage US....

FTA: "In Congress, I will move to streamline our immigration process to prioritize compassion and the inherent dignity of migrants while securing our border. We should make it easier to become an American, not harder!"
What's easier than open borders, free bus/plane rides, welfare support, and a perpetual keep-out-of-jail card issued by Federal bureaucrats? Meanwhile, border jumpers working off the books keep citizens from working legally, with the protections of such as workers compensation in case of injury and unemployment insurance, and (like it or not) payments into Social Security. And then there is imported crime, drugs flooding across the border along with people being forced into slavery or prostitution, not to mention a documented influx of "terrorists" or sympathizers. Republican or not, Hispanic or other, this is poorly considered policy and I cannot abide that. We are past time to get a grip on immigration into the US. Perhaps a moratorium is in order, backed by real criminal penalties.

#13, I have long thought we need to call a pause on all immigration. Not because I'm anti-immigration (granddaughter of immigrants), but because we need to get a handle on who's been coming and going in our country.

Well #9 this is what they do.
Environmental engineers use the principles of engineering, soil science, biology, and chemistry to develop solutions to environmental problems. They work to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control.

Thank you, #15. Environmental engineers are not usually environmentalists. Same with environmental, mining, and oil & gas attorneys. They assist their clients in finding solutions to the maddening compliance mazes set up by federal and state government bureaucrats.
