The Army suspended a three-star general after he appeared to make fun of First Lady Jill Biden.
Retired lieutenant general Gary Volesky, a former spokesman for the Army, responded to a tweet from Biden about the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, in which the First Lady remarked that women’s rights had been “stolen.” Biden tweeted that “for nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us.”
Volesky responded, “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.”

Thank you General Volesky!
FINALLY! An American patriot with brains, heart, guts, a spine and the testicular fortitude to slap an evil elite across the face a la General George S. Patton.

If he is retired, how do they "suspend" him?

He doesn't hold a candle to John Kerry, America's greatest living war hero.

Well if he is mentoring the Army’s general officers he is failing miserably.

/a read of the article reveals this:
The Army suspended Volesky, who had signed a $92 an hour contract to advise active duty officers as a mentor, while it conducts an investigation, according to USA TODAY.
A convoluted sentence. He apparently had contracted for a post-retirement job with the Army.

Retired, high ranking officers often arrange such sweetheart deals upon retirement.
A late friend, who was a USAF contracts officer, was stationed in California at an aircraft manufacturer in the early 1970s. My friend, a Majo0r in the USAF, complained that he had to put up with some old retired Colonel, who was a '
packaging consultant' and got in the way when aircraft components had to be shipped. He was useless, my friend said.
As for the General in this story, that was a sweet deal. There are 2070 hours in a work year, assuming a 40 hour week. That means the General could have earned 217,860 dollars, teaching officers how to be officers. If you add in his pension as a retired 3 star general, that's the good life, hey?
(I will do a quick search to see what the silver star was for.)

Oops - 2080 work hours in a work year, assuming a 40 hour week.
This General retired with an Army pension of about 135,000 dollars a year.

He’s also gone after Liz Cheney. My kind of guy!
(Does anyone really believe that his post-retirement mentoring job for he Army would consist of a 40 hour week, 52 weeks a year? Seriously?

Not many officers have the opportunity to be mentored by a real warrior. Here is the small fortune Volesky raked in for performing this addiional service:
Volesky was hired under a Pentagon program as an expert with the experience and skills to bring "enlightened thinking" to the military, according to the Pentagon's description of the program. He was paid $50,046 for his work from November 2020 to August 2021, and $18,952 from September 2021 to June 2022, according to the Army. (snip) The Pentagon has unique authority in the federal government to hire retired senior officers like Volesky, whom it refers to as "Highly Qualified – Senior Mentors." They possess "uncommon, special knowledge, skills, and experience in an occupational field; and judgment that is accorded authority and status by peers or the public," according to the Pentagon's description of the program. They're hired "to bring enlightened thinking and innovation," the description reads.

Volesky cerfainly displayed those qualities in the rescue mission that earned him the Silver Star.
It is interesting to note that an investigation of the mentoring program by junk newspaper USA Today pretty much killed the mentoring program. Where there were once many, today there are three. And it is clearly very parttime, not a fulltime job.
In his tweets, he sounded like someone we’d agree with. Anti-politics (Liz Cheney and J6 committgee), anti-fake women. Imagine the prospect of their being in the military was especially galling go him.
Volesky was worth more than a hundred Jill Bidens.
