Dave Chappelle's surprise Netflix special
delivers a punch to cancel culture

In a surprise move, Netflix quietly released a “speech” on Friday delivered by comedian Dave Chappelle at his high school alma mater, Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. The speech is forty minutes in length and time well spent for Chappelle’s audience. The speech/special is titled “What’s in a Name?” The reason for Chappelle’s speech that turned into a Netflix special was the re-naming of the school’s theatre. Chappelle was to be honored by the school. His name was supposed to be on the theatre but all that changed after a much-publicized meltdown by students at the high school over the choice of honoring Chappelle.

Dave Chappelle has more talent and brains in his left index finger than the entire senior class of that school.

His point is well taken. It’s easy to parrot memes. It’s not always easy to think independently. Expressing your thoughts is what Americans are supposed to do. Shouting down thoughtlessly are “thoughts” of empty minds.

Georgia Democrats Face Gale Force Headwinds 8 replies

The Democrats badly need to consolidate their 2020 gains in Georgia. Their tiny majority in the U.S. Senate may well stand or fall based on the fate of Sen. Raphael Warnock’s reelection bid. Moreover, they want Stacey Abrams in the Governor’s Mansion because they need to control how the Peach State’s election integrity law is enforced in 2024. Considering her frequent denunciations of the statute, strict adherence to its provisions would hardly be her top priority as Governor. It appears unlikely, however, that Georgia’s voters intend to entrust her with that responsibility.

“This isn’t some imagined horror. It is already happening. Just last week, it was reported that a 10-year-old girl was a rape victim — 10 years old — and she was forced to have to travel out of state to Indiana to seek to terminate the pregnancy and maybe save her life.” (Snip)On July 1, the Indianapolis Star, also known as the IndyStar, published an article, written by the newspaper’s medical writer, about how women seeking abortions had begun traveling from Ohio to Indiana, where less restrictive abortion laws were still in place.

Rats, sinking ships, some disassembly may be — but apparently isn’t — required. ABC’s Rick Klein notices today what has become apparent over the last couple of months but especially after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. Democrats have begun to make Joe Biden the focus of their public complaints, and they’re doing that increasingly on the record. Put that together with a recent exodus of talent at the White House, especially in the comms shop, and it paints a picture of collapse: It’s coming from the left as well as the center — from safe Democrats and those who are anything but.
Brace Yourself for the Biden Housing Bust 30 replies

For many readers, the above title will conjure up memories of the 2008 housing crash caused by the proliferation of subprime mortgages and the subsequent tsunami of defaults. But a better corollary for the coming Biden bust is the Carter crash that occurred three decades earlier. During the final two years of Carter’s term, sales of existing and new homes collapsed because the Fed was forced to raise interest rates sharply to get double-digit inflation under control. This, in turn, produced double-digit mortgage rates that priced millions of potential buyers out of the market.

As it happens I was just in the National Gallery in London last Friday perusing paintings by Turner, Monet and Vincent van Gogh. Monday, a pair of anti-fossil fuel campaigners entered the museum, covered a painting by John Constable with an image they’d made themselves and then glued their hands to the frame of the painting. Here’s what Constable’s ‘The Hay Wain’ looks like.(Snip)And here’s video of the protesters after it was covered with their own dystopian version of the image. I haven’t seen any explanation for why the staff who are present in nearly every room of the National Gallery stood by and allowed this.

Amid the nationwide crime crisis that has arisen out of woke Democrat policies and the so-called "progressive prosecutor" movement, Philadelphia has been especially hard-hit — and its mayor is apparently tired of leading and looking forward to being out of office after overseeing the city's record-setting crime spike. On Independence Day, two law enforcement officers were hit with gunfire at Philly's July Fourth festivities from an unknown suspect or suspects — authorities are still trying to identify those responsible and determine their motive. Thankfully, both officers were discharged after being treated for their wounds.

This term of the Supreme Court has been a big one for based decisions and here’s another big one. The Supreme Court sharply curtailed the power of the EPA to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change. In a 6-3 ruling written by Chief Justice John Roberts, the court sided with conservative states and fossil-fuel companies in adopting a narrow reading of the Clean Air Act.The Court found that Congress had not authorized the EPA to induce a shift toward cleaner energy sources. “Congress did not grant EPA…the authority to devise emissions caps based on the generation shifting approach

House Democrats ginned up another round of blockbuster anticipation Monday night when the Select Committee on Jan. 6 announced a last-minute hearing with a surprise witness. On Tuesday, the nine-member panel brought forward a key aide to former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Cassidy Hutchinson, who supposedly possessed intimate knowledge of the administration’s conduct on Jan. 6. The topic of the afternoon hearing remained under seal until Hutchinson took the stand to offer new bombshell evidence allegedly incriminating the former Republican president.

Progressives like nothing better than to lecture conservatives on racism, insisting that we revel in white privilege and vote Republican due to a deeply held aversion to people of color. They have, of course, absolved themselves of all sins racial by claiming to be “woke.” But the mendacity of that pose has been laid bare by the barrage of openly racist attacks on Clarence Thomas pursuant to last week’s Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Justice Samuel Alito authored the ruling, and it was supported by a majority of the Court, but progressive rage has focused on Thomas.

A festering rot of racial animosity exists in our society that we willfully ignore socially and politically. It is a rot that eats away at the flesh of our civil society and spoils the greatness of our multicultural nation. Progressives continually tell us we have blinders on when it comes to racism in American society. They’ve shoved their ideological solution of anti-racism to force us to “deconstruct” what they believe is an inherently deep-seated racist nation. I, as a black American, am supposed to rejoice in the presence of our self-appointed saviors, but I peeked behind the veil and saw who they really are.

The Democrats reacted with predictable hysteria last Friday when the Supreme Court handed down its decision overturning Roe v. Wade. We have since been deafened by shrill denunciations of the “MAGA Court,” “extremist justices” and all things Republican. Adding to the din President Biden brayed, “This decision is the culmination of a deliberate effort over decades to upset the balance of our law.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared, “Make no mistake: reproductive freedom is on the ballot in November.” It is hardly a given, however, that this will save the Democrats in the fall.

Following the 2020 election and the pro-Trump January 6, 2021 attack against the U.S. Capitol, Hogan has condemned the former president's election lies and his efforts to subvert democracy.

In 2019, the Army advised soldiers not to use TikTok on government-owned phones, citing national security risks from the Chinese app. China-based employees also have access to US user data.

And that’s why this election is going to be so darn important.” (Tweet)

It’s all out in the open now. We have a traitor and suicide bomber in the White House. No one is even bothering to hide it. Biden is clearly a suicide bomber, owned by the Chinese Communist Party and the Mexican Drug Cartel, and put in place to destroy America, American exceptionalism, capitalism, and most importantly, the great American middle class. I learned this plan at Columbia University, Class of ’83, alongside my classmate Barack Obama (who was never actually seen in any class at Columbia- but that’s a story for another day). Moore’s news amendment erases any talk of a right to “keep and bear arms,” positing, instead, an “inalienable right to be kept safe from gun violence.” The amendment outlines the in-depth background check that would be required for gun purchases:

Delaware's chancery courts deal with non-jury proceedings overseen by judges known as chancellors.
