Andy Beshear's office reversed course Tuesday and turned over a June 23 White House email that confirms President Joe Biden intended to nominate an anti-abortion Republican to a lifetime appointment as a federal district judge in Kentucky. (Snip) [Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Louisville] and other officials have told The Courier Journal they believe Biden agreed to appoint Meredith, a Federalist Society attorney who has fought against abortion rights, so that McConnell would not hold up future White House nominations.
McConnell and Meredith also have declined to comment.

An explosive device was found outside the family home of a California councilwoman Tuesday morning, prompting law enforcement to evacuate the area.

Dozens of police moved in on an ongoing trucker protest at the Ambassador Bridge connecting Detroit, Michigan to Windsor, Ontario, Saturday morning, appearing to follow through on threats made by Ontario Premier Doug Ford to clear the demonstration.
Police, wearing yellow safety vests, moved into place around 8:45 a.m. local time, according to CBC News, directing protesters to clear the bridge. CBC reporters also noted that police brought several armored vehicles and that law enforcement had formed a blockade.

The multitrillion-dollar price tag was a bargain because the bill would totally transform America, President Biden claimed. (Snip) What, pray tell, is the Biden presidency about? What are his convictions and where does he want to take the nation?
Merely to raise such questions at this late date signals the problem.

I believe it was Gaylord Nelson, then governor of Wisconsin, who first recognized the right of public employees to collectively bargain, and it was another governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker, who decades later under state law virtually eliminated it with wonderful results for teachers, local governments, and pupils. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said on this week’s broadcast of Fox News Sunday that it was appropriate for demonstrators to protest outside a restaurant where Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was dining.

A California doctor is planning to offer abortions on a "floating clinic" in the Gulf of Mexico to circumvent state bans on the procedure. (snip) The plan is for the ship to act as a "comprehensive" reproductive health clinic with a full team of licensed health care providers offering surgical abortions up to 14 weeks, contraception and other care to patients living in states where such services are restricted, according to its website.

Twitter has hired a heavy-hitting Delaware-based law firm to sue Elon Musk for backing out of his $44billion deal to buy the company.
The social media giant hired the Watchell, Lipton Rosen & Katz, and plans to file suit against Musk early this week, Bloomberg reported.
The hiring of Wachtell gives the company access to lawyers Leo Strine and Bill Savitt, who previously served as Chancellors of the Delaware Chancery Court where the lawsuit would be heard.
