HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – The dad of the accused Fourth of July parade killer told The Post on Wednesday that his son talked about a mass shooting in Denmark the night before launching his own massacre — and washed his hands of any guilt over how the suspect got his gun.
The father, Robert Crimo Jr. — who has tapped one of R. Kelly’s lawyers to battle claims he helped his mentally disturbed kid buy guns — said that the night before Monday’s shooting, he and son Robert Crimo III discussed the 22-year-old Danish man who shot and killed three people at a mall outside of Copenhagen on Sunday.

Charge these idiot parents as co-conspirators or bring back mandatory institutionalization.

Both of the parents, especially dear old dad, should be behind bars. During that time, they can catch up with their son that they messed up!

Same broken, Homelife for the Uvalde school shooter. Whole family had suspect or criminal records except the grandma. The destruction of the nuclear family is creating these isolated, emotionless, depressed killers. Good job Democrats!

I had intended to highlight the “best of” in the article, but the entire article is beyond belief. Delusional father, thirsty-exhibitionist, alternative healer mother, head-in-the-sand uncle. R Kelly’s former attorney should have advised the killers' sperm donor to keep his mouth shut . . . and wear a shirt that is less form-fitting, unless he is transitioning.
“I talked to him 13 hours before [Monday’s massacre]. That’s why I guess I’m in such shock. … Like, did he have a psychiatric break or something?” the father said of his son.
The dad sponsored the application three months after his son was labeled a “clear and present danger” by authorities for threatening to kill relatives in 2019.
The incident, which led police to briefly confiscate a sword, dagger and 15 knives from the shooter’s home, was just a “childish outburst,” and the knives were “just a collection,” “You know I used to collect coins and baseball cards,” the dad said.”
Crimo Jr. said he decided to sponsor his son’s firearm owner’s identification card because he thought Crimo III was going to use the weapon to go to the shooting range.”
“I want a long sentence,” Crimo said of his 21-year-old son.“ That’s life. You know you have consequences for actions. He made a choice. He didn’t have to do that. I think there’s mental illness there, obviously. … I didn’t see a lot of it.”

Both parents clearly are, um, a bubble off of plumb, but I read in a different article that their home is in pre-foreclosure. The dad owned one or more delis, and I've got to think that the foreclosure may have been due to his business(es) being closed down for months due to the WuFlu. I wonder how much of the kid's problems may be related to his parents being distracted by all of that. The effects of the mishandling of that pandemic are going to be with us, and crop up in unexpected ways, for a very long time.

If they have homeowner's insurance, the company will be settling for the policy limits and the Crimos will be declaring bankruptcy.

FTA: “'I want a long sentence,' Crimo said of his 21-year-old son.” The elder Crimo (who has gynecomastia) says he's furious. Isn't that special.
Do they still do executions in Illinois? If so, they ought to be able to get the conviction and the death sentence standing on their heads. As LtCG says, "Git 'er done."
