Ivan Marquez, big FARC terrorist and darling

drug dealers in Venezuela?

As Colombia prepares to inaugurate a communist leader who's 'worse than Chavez' as former President Alvaro Uribe put it, things aren't exactly tranquil in next-door socialist hellhole Venezuela. Here's the news from that dump: Colombia’s President Ivan Duque suggested on Saturday that FARC dissident leader “Ivan Márquez” was killed in Venezuela. In a tweet, Duque said that military intelligence was “verifying” whether the former political chief of the now-defunct guerrilla group FARC was killed in the neighboring country.

Comments:

He wanted to go out in a blaze of socialist revolutionary glory. Instead, he got rubbed out by a fellow drug dealer. He won't be missed. But what a smelly narcostate Venezuela has become.

Control our own borders! Instead of creating an industry to fight drugs, meaning the problem is never solved, go after the dealers and gangs here in the States. Do that and let South America and Central America deal with their own problems just do not let it spread to the States.

Joe Biden's open border is now the world's

When you think of the world's "deadliest land crossing," what springs to mind? Perhaps the Stalag-like border around North Korea? The jungly narcoguerrilla-infested Colombia-Venezuela border? Perhaps the swampy predator-infested Colombia-Panama Darien Gap? Maybe the Israel-Gaza line? Some nightmare crossing full of child soldiers around the Central African Republic? The Afghanistan-Pakistan land crossing? There are a lot of hellholes out there that make good candidates. But according to a United Nations agency, looking at the objective numbers, the honor goes to Joe Biden and his open border -- now the world's deadliest land crossing. According to the Epoch Times: The U.S.-Mexico border has become the world’s “deadliest” land crossing,

Because Independence Day always makes for a slow news weekend, that leaves room for looking at and thinking about other news stories that wouldn’t normally make the grade at American Thinker. The one that caught my eye was the Daily Mail’s huge photo essay showing the wedding of Charlotte Freud, one of Rupert Murdoch’s granddaughters, to Luke Storey, a rapper. It was held in the exquisitely picturesque English Cotswold district but the photos are a testament to the death of beauty in the modern era. If you like things that are quintessentially English, the Cotswold district is the place for you:

Old Joe is still trying to figure out where inflation comes from. It's gotten so bad even the Chicoms are laughing at him. This time the intellectually blindfolded president has pinned the donkey tail on gas station owners. According to Fox Business: President Biden is telling companies that are "running gas stations" to "bring down" their prices because "this is a time of war and global peril." "My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril," Biden tweeted on Saturday. 'Don't you dare question our patriotism,' Democrats used to huff. This, despite a massive body of evidence that loyalty to the U.S. and its Constitution is not their thing. Well, they've dropped that act for now and are putting out tweets like this: (Snip for tweet.) It's as if the holiday has no meaning for them. Hating on the Fourth is now the hip and 'in' thing for cutting-edge Democrats. And someone out there among the Pima County Democrats organization, a spokesperson for the party with enough clout to have control over the Twitter account, put that crap out, with the Democrats' name on it.

It's astonishing how out of touch the Joe Biden administration is with voters. We're talking about tin ears, brains and bodies. A reporter asked a White House official about those soaring energy prices at the pump -- the number one issue occupying likely voters' attention, according to a recent Rasmussen poll -- and got this: (Snip for tweet). How inspiring. Seems that releasing the Strategic Petroleum Reserves did nothing to bring down high energy prices, and blaming Putin didn't resonate with the public. So now it's the New World Order as the hill we die on. Can you say 'pathetic'?

In New York, there's a lot of horror at a seemingly random killing of a 20-year-old woman pushing a baby stroller with her three-month-old infant on an Upper East Side street. According to CBS News: A 20-year-old woman died after being shot in the head while pushing her 3-month-old in a stroller in Manhattan's Upper East Side Wednesday night. The toddler [sic] wasn't injured. New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a news conference that the victim was pushing the stroller when a man approached from behind and "fired a single shot into her head from a very close range," then fled.

Six Supreme Court justices voted to overturn Roe v. Wade as a faulty legal ruling. But the left being the left, they are going after the black guy. Which explains the near insanity of the left's reaction against distinguished Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who is black and ruled with the majority. That's an unforgiveable thing to leftists who continue to view black people as their "property." There's been some grotesque stuff going on, leftists zeroing in on Thomas with a special rage in a special pile-on unseen anywhere else. That's led to strange specters such as white Karen-types openly

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is slamming conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, whom she described as a “person of grievance” in an interview on Tuesday. “I went to law school with him. He’s been a person of grievance for as long as I have known him,” Clinton said in an interview with Gayle King during an appearance on “CBS This Morning.” “Resentment, grievance, anger … women are going to die, Gayle. Women will die.” Thomas has been on the receiving end of sharp criticism from women’s rights groups and Democrats following the court’s blockbuster decision overturning Roe v. The Biden administration published its annual U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER) Tuesday, showing large fossil fuel industry job losses. The Department of Energy (DOE) report found that the fuels technology sector experienced job losses totaling 29,271 jobs in 2021, a 3.1% year-over-year decline, with the majority coming in the fossil fuel industry. Onshore and offshore petroleum companies shed 31,593 jobs, a 6.4% decline, the coal industry lost 7,125 jobs, down 11.8% year-over-year, and fossil fuel extraction jobs declined by 12%. "The DOE jobs report is not only reflective of the broader pandemic slowdown, but also highlights an Administration that has worked overtime on restricting American natural gas and oil production,"

Amid all the partying and gladhanding and making Vladimir Putin a figure of fun, the G-7 summit in Germany managed to avoid the important topics, such as where the hell greenie Germany is going to get energy from, and just what it means when it says it's going to support Ukraine forever. Instead, it moved into its comfort zone, which was "infrastructure" and greenie energy for the third world, as if the third world needed more corruption and energy shortages, as greenie Germany is experiencing. Naturally, its idea was to throw money -- mostly American money -- at the problem. Doddering Joe Biden
