New York Democrats in the state legislature were called into special session by Gov. Kathy Hochul in order to deal with an emergency situation. The U.S. Supreme Court had thrown out New York’s restrictive gun licensing law that made it nearly impossible for a citizen to carry a weapon for self-defense, and Democrats were experiencing near-apoplexy. Their paradise was about to be invaded by a bunch of gun-toting, whiskey-swilling, cowboy-hat-wearing yahoos. (That’s their vision of anyone wanting a concealed carry permit, anyway).
They solved their problem by passing another gun law. This one will also almost

These additional laws will finally stop the bad guys. Yessire Bob, we done got 'em now. We're safe.
In all seriousness it only hampers the law abiding citizen from protecting himself from the crazies the state refuses to prosecute and release back onto the street.

Many electorate sheep thought that Eric and Kathy would be a vast improvement over Bill and Andrew. The cesspool grows wider and deeper.
Enjoy the consequences.

This law will be quickly struck down. Angry, irrational hissy fits do not make good law.

The Constitution doesn't grant anything. It prohibits the government from trampling natural rights to life and liberty.

Gosh, I have been legally carrying a concealed pistol for over 40 years, I enjoy a good glass of bourbon and I live in Wyoming and wear a cowboy hat. I guess I am not welcome in the big apple.

No, wait. All of the 40 plus years I have been a commissioned peace officer and am also a certified law enforcement firearms instructor and a NRA certified firearms instructor. Which watch list should I be on?

"The law passed on Friday makes it a felony crime to carry a gun into a new list of sensitive places, including: government buildings, medical facilities ... theaters, stadiums and other venues, polling places and Times Square."
If everywhere is a sensitive area,
then nowhere is a sensitive area.

Many years ago a handgun was among things stolen from our home. Eventually it turned up in NYC. Despite everything, it was never returned to us. I hate New York.

SCOTUS should convene on this matter, and settle it, immediately.

Sorry Hochul, no matter how much lipstick you put on your legislation, it still violates the 2A. No government, whether Federal, State or Local approves whether we, the people, can possess, own nor bear arms (not defind). Your legislation is dead to the 2A.

Key Phrase..."... places where alcohol or marijuana is consumed..."
Just last week Mayor "Super Cop" Addams announced that no marijuana laws would be enforced anymore, including both smoking and Sales.
“Enjoy yourself, light up, but most importantly, spend some money. We want your money,”
Ergo...EVERYWHERE is now a place where alcohol and Marijuana is consumed.
If I lived there I'd just get some throwaway guns, carry one anyway, since they do not prosecute Criminals for gun crimes anymore either, just drop it on the ground when done with it or confronted by a cop, kick it down a sewer.

Dems only follow laws they agree with. They only support the Supreme Court when it rules in their favor. They only want the police when their lives are threatened.

New York might just be the starting point of the revolution. Kathy Hochul is dumber than Gretchen Whitmer ever was.

Back in the 1950s, some Democrat-run states tried unsuccessfully to defy the Supreme Court. Democrat-run New York is the new Arkansas and awaits the same fate.

Somehow you banned their guns and they've still got 'em.

The fewer people in Democrat controlled jurisdictions who are allowed to protect themselves will ultimately lead to fewer Democrats...not such a bad thing!

Just to clarify:
DEMOCRATS ARE NOT AMERICANS. THEY DO NOT BELIEVE IN FREEDOM OR PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY. THEY ARE TOTALITARIAN THUGS WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT POWER. THEY BELIEVE THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW AND ANSWER TO NO ONE. THEY USE RHETORIC TO DIVIDE THE ELECTORATE BY RACE, GENDER, CLASS, AND RELIGION. THEY ARE EVIL INCARNATE.
There, I hope some of us get the message.

FTA: “Now, it’s going to be easier to get a concealed-carry” license, said Mike Lawler, a Republican member of the Assembly, during the debate. “But you’re not going to be able to carry it anywhere.”
Democrats and rinos know what is best for us. And they explain stuff in terms the proles can understand.

I can't see this standing. They are doing the same thing only differently. They now will issue the permit but you can't use it. I would like someone to tell me the difference. It's like giving someone a drivers license and telling them that they can't drive on any state road.

That's exactly what the left does. We need to stop following and obeying their obvious unconstitutional and illegal rules and laws, but we dutifully obey, and our lawmakers act powerless.
