New York moves toward enshrining abortion,
LGBTQ rights in state constitution

Albany—New York is taking the first step towards enshrining abortion access and LGBTQ rights in the state’s constitution following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Democrat-led Legislature began the process of passing an amendment on Friday to expand the state’s constitutional protections during a special session initially called by Gov. Hochul to strengthen the state’s gun laws in response to a separate Supreme Court ruling. “In today’s session not only are we restoring the basic tenets of public safety, but we’re upholding the core belief that every citizen, regardless of their identity, is entitled to equal treatment under the law,”

Comments:

If that's New York values, then let New York have its values. But likewise other states should be free to do as they please.

This was the idea when the Supreme Joke gave states the power to regulate, legislate and worship abortion. Its nice to see dysfunctional states take advantage of this new power. It will be nice to see NY become as irrelevant as Rhode Island in my lifetime.

I saw an article in the LA TIMES - Larry Elder mentioned it. Justice Blackman who wrote the Roe decision disagreed with how is was interpreted. He specifically stated in his letters - that the writ was supposed to give physicians more leeway to take a medical stance on when an abortion might be medically advised. He said it did not give the 'right' to do with one's body as one pleased nor a right to have abortion on demand. Abortion was to be regulated by the ethics and knowledge of a woman's personal attending physician. That physician was bound by an ethical code - of do no harm, by the codes of the medical societies & the state medical laws.

Unfettered abortion and stricter gun control. Yeah, because not enough black New Yorkers have died yet. Hochul has just made killing blacks a whole lot easier and--here's the best part--legal! If you miss your chance before they are born, you go after them on the streets by making sure that lots and lots of illegal guns are in the hands of the ones who dodged the abortionist's forceps so they can take out one of their black brothers or sisters in the 'hood. Who says there's no such thing as white supremacy?

A state where child sacrifice to Baal and the passing of children through fire as was done in the Bible by people who quit following the Lord and worshipped false gods and idols and in the end were destroyed by God who gets mad when other gods are worshipped. They had gay and lesbian enshrining and celebration in a couple of cities that don't exist anymore by the names Soddom and Gomorrah. So go ahead NY, in the end, God will make sure your punishment is swift and eternal.

Might as well throw in legalizing euthanasia and pedophilia, too, since progressives be wanting to add that soon, too. And start building an ark. There just may be a reason that the sea levels have been rising since the rainbow was desecrated.

They were 1 of 4 states who allowed legal abortions prior to Roe, so why are they doing this now? They've been lying to the people of New York for 50 years, and now need to look like they're "doing something". Same thing happening in California who wants to be an abortion sanctuary of all things, and has had legal abortion as a matter of State law for decades too. I hope some group reminds voters how they've been lied to for so long about this issue in their particular state.
