This is the trouble with affirmative action. You give a job to someone who obviously doesn't have the credentials to earn it. Then you expect them to do a good job. It just doesn't work that way.

The military academies do press releases on their new students. Has any reporter checked the back issues of the Wilmington, Delaware newspaper to see if a news release by the Naval Academy was done on a young Jo Biden? Separate from that, did the White House do any trial runs on Karine, to see if she could handle the job??

The other side of affirmative action is that it sets up its “beneficiaries” for failure. This is a perfect example. But TaliBiden is obsessed with hiring black females. She and Ketanji should never have accepted those positions - they should have realized that they were nothing more than tokens and they should have been offended and disgusted by the offers.

The problem for Biden, or whoever is running him, is that Karine, who neatly fits within a number of the categories favored by Democrat identity politics, cannot just be fired as an incompetent affirmative action employee. So to get rid of Karine out of her current job and the White House, Biden will most probably have to promote her to what would be considered in Democrat politics to be a much better job, like the next US Ambassador to Haiti, the land of her ancestors and heritage.

Texas Supreme Court Blocks Order That

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday blocked a lower court order that had allowed abortionists in the state to continue seeing patients. Texas has had an abortion ban in place that was unenforceable during the 50 years that Roe v. Wade legalized abortion. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe last week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton warned that “abortion providers could be criminally liable for providing abortions starting today” because of Texas’s “abortion prohibitions predating Roe.” A Houston judge issued a ruling earlier this week allowing clinics to temporarily resume abortions up to six weeks into pregnancy.

A record low number of U.S. adults report that they are “extremely proud to be American,” despite President Joe Biden’s promise to “restore the soul and to secure the future of America.” Thirty-eight percent say they are “extremely proud” to be an American, which is the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking the trend in 2001. Still, 65 percent of adults polled say they are either “extremely” or “very” proud of the nation — 27 percent are “very proud,” and 22 percent are “moderately proud.” Nine percent are “only a little,” and 4 percent are “not at all proud.” “This record-low level of extreme national pride comes at a challenging time

Inflation is mostly to blame for Biden’s catastrophic approval rating, of course. But I think what Axelrod describes here is an underrated reason for flagging left-wing support. It’s not (just) that his policies aren’t progressive enough. It’s the sense that he doesn’t “fight,” to borrow a term from righty populists. And when he does make a gesture towards fighting, like when he endorsed creating an exception to the filibuster for abortion rights, he’s destined to end up losing that fight. It doesn’t help either that he’s 79 years old. Watch two minutes of Axelrod here, which picks up with him discussing Biden’s call for a filibuster carve-out.

Washington — The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to take up an elections case brought by North Carolina Republicans that could diminish the power of state courts to order changes to rules for federal elections and the redrawing of congressional districts approved by state lawmakers. The dispute involves the "independent state legislature" theory, which was invoked by Chief Justice William Rehnquist's concurring opinion in Bush v. Gore and raised by former President Donald Trump and Republicans during the 2020 presidential election. Under the theory, the Constitution grants state legislatures the sole authority to regulate federal elections in their states, without oversight from state courts. The dispute stems from the redistricting process undertaken
