Cornell University recently admitted to removing both a bust of President Abraham Lincoln and a plaque of the Gettysburg Address from its library after a student anonymously complained about the display, presumably due to so-called “racism.”
(snip) biology professor Randy Wayne gave a very brief statement on the matter, simply saying “someone complained, and it was gone.” (snip) first noticed the missing display several weeks earlier and asked the librarians what had happened, to which he was told that the school had received some kind of complaint; the librarians refused to provide any specific details (snip)
bust and plaque had been on display in the university’s Kroch Library, home

and the majority of 1 wins again but that's to be expected from an Ivy League school
- anticipating that a bust of Vladimir I. Lenin will replace it because, according to prevailing thought he has done more for our country than Abraham :Lincoln ever did
- this is preposterous

Did someone stumble across The Great Emancipator's comments on how freed Africans should all be exported to some fertile country with a good climate, which they could have to themselves (1865 state of the union)? Or was it his previous thoughts on the right to self-government, which he later trampled?
"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable and most sacred right—a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can may revolutionize and make their own of so many of the territory as they inhabit." Abraham Lincoln, Jan. 12, 1848

If this doesn't say I'm a communist, I don't know what does.

The fact that freedom for black slaves (and whites under peonage) came at the cost of 2.1 million Union Soldiers who fought, of whom roughly 400,000 died and more double that were wounded.
1.5 Union soldiers died for each African slave imported into the United States.
The Union lost 2.5% of the nation's population, equivalent to losing 10,000,000 men today. That is like nuking NYC and the surrounding area.
Note this does not count the Confederate deaths, which are roughly equivalent, from a much smaller initial force.
The USA, alone in all nations of history, fought a war -- the bloodiest war in our history -- to free slaves. The price was paid in blood to free slaves. A punishment like no other nation has faced was pounded onto the Confederacy --- worse on a percentage basis than what Germany received from WWII.
Liberals do not want to be reminded of the sacrifice of these brave Union Soldiers.
The Gettysburg Address is all about how and why these brave Union soldiers died. That sacrifice has to be erased and forgotten to fit the liberals' world view.

The proper complaint is not against the terminally ignorant child who made such a fool of itself, but rather against the administrator parasites who befouled America’s history.
