The death of former Senate Sergeant-At-Arms one day before a ‘surprise’ January 6 commitee hearing drew immense interest from initial reports. The news was first reported on Monday by Politico’s K. Tully-McManus, and was confirmed by Fox News’ Chad Pergram. Both reports on Tuesday lacked details. “Fox confirms that Michael Stenger, the Senate Sergeant at Arms who was in charge of Senate security the day of the Capitol riot, has died,” Fox News’ Chad Pergram reported. Sunday, during this week’s broadcast of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) argued for her January 6 House Select Committee colleague Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to be the face of the Republican Party going forward.
Luria said her voice was “needed” when asked about the prospects of Luria running for president as a Republican in 2024.

President Joe Biden is considering issuing government identification (ID) cards to border crossers and illegal aliens who are set for release into American communities as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) expansive “catch and release” operation.
