At least one person is in critical condition from gunfire, and another in serious condition after being stabbed, police say. The first incident occurred at 1:27 a.m. in the 3100 block of North Clark St., when police say three people were shot while standing outside. (Snip) The violence in both neighborhoods comes as Chicago police say they are stepping up patrols in certain areas during the summer months, a time in Chicago that historically sees an increase in violent crime.
