After 49 years of legal arguments, protests and political battles over the composition of the Supreme Court, the court has finally overturned Roe v. Wade.
No matter how you feel about abortion, this should be welcomed as a healthy development for American democracy and for the rule of written law made by the people’s representatives. Roe was a legal mistake that played a large role in driving our national politics crazy. Now the democratic process gets to decide what happens to abortion.
This decision unites the Democrats but will divide the Republicans, many of whom are not absolutists on abortion.
The best approach for Republicans is to seek the ban on abortions after 15 weeks.

Pro-Death takes a big uppercut on the chin.
The souls of 65 million American children cry out for justice.
Every 20 minutes 24/7/365 a full kindergarten class of American children are heinously torn to pieces and their body parts sold.

On one day these leftists get all teary eyed about "our democracy" being subverted. And, they are too ignorant to know that we have a republic, not a democracy.
But, as soon as one of their unpopular ideas is no longer forced on the states by the federal courts, when things go back to being decided by a vote in the legislature, or in Congress.....they explode in hysterical rage.
They don't believe in a democratic voting process - they want totalitarian ability to FORCE their view on those who they cannot persuade. Democracy is the LAST thing that they want. And when their totalitarian actions by federal judges fail, they resort to violence. My gun is my protection from their violence.
An retired Marine has written that "The gun is civilization". He said that there are two ways to make someone do what you want them to do. One is to use persuasion. The other is to use force. If I have a gun, I can resist your force and you will be required to use persuasion. This is called CIVILIZATION. Therefore, his title,
"The Gun Is Civilization". He says it better than I can.

They are done trying to persuade us. They are being uncivil and resorting to violence. I will use my gun to protect myself from their violence, if need be. I doubt that they will be coming to my home, but if they do, it will be a mistake.

Ruth Ginsburg always thought Roe was a bad decision. She was pro abortion but not pro Roe

Yet the moronic free-love baby killers would have the federal government codify it. Another word they’ve fallen in love with, not knowing that codifying turns something into the law of the land and in this csse it would be murder by mother. As the libs love to say, “that’s not who we are”...

Congress can pass any law it wants to on abortion. The Court has just made it very clear that it will strike down any national abortion law as unconstitutional, it is up to the individual states. I believe, like the article says, that most states with abortion restrictions will gradually loosen them in response to a changing public attitude. This is how the United States works.
I read Roe v Wade, all 82 pages of it. Two thirds of the opinion was a rehash of historical attitudes towards abortion. It was poorly researched and fraught with historical errors and prejudice. But the last 20 or so pages spelled out the compelling reason that abortion laws were unconstitutional; they violated a woman's right to privacy. This is complete nonsense as the right to privacy is infinitely vague and nowhere mentioned in the Constitution. It was truly a "house of cards".
