Republicans in Texas formally rejected President Joe Biden's election in 2020 as illegitimate and voted in a state-wide convention that wrapped up this weekend on a party platform that calls homosexuality an 'abnormal lifestyle choice.'
The convention was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Thursday until Saturday, and the vote to reject Biden's election win was a verbal one.
That resolution said: 'We believe that the 2020 election violated Article 1 and 2 of the US Constitution, that various secretaries of state illegally circumvented their state legislatures in conducting their elections in multiple ways, including by allowing ballots to be received after November 3 2020.'

Agree! Also please stop calling the rest of us Straight. You weirdos created that name. We want to be called Normal, as we are the sexual norm, whereas you are deviations to the norm, hence sexual deviants. I’m just going by statistical SCIENCE in my observation.

It was actually worse than what they state, but they are right.
Right on both cases.

FTA: “ In recent weeks, testimonies from members of former President Donald Trump inner circle admitted that they did not believe his claims of election fraud. ” Anyone who is honest, reasonable and will objectively look at the evidence could not hold this opinion. At the very least, they would have questions. We know that there were individuals working with PDT who were there to be anything but supportive of his agenda. Many were there to undermine him every step of the way. At the time of the stolen election, the pressure to move on was enormous because democrats knew they stole it and many Republicans did not want Trump to have another term. He upset their little fiefdom and actually made them look like fools for not buckling down and at least attempting to solve problems that the political class had ignored, to their benefit, for decades. They slow walked everything in the past simply because it was beneficial to them politically and personally. While democrats are actively destroying the Republic, Republicans still play this game.
Although the declaration of the homosexual lifestyle being abnormal is correct. This will only give the left fuel for their fire. It will be used in ads and will be a huge talking point. While I agree, we must be smart about this kind of thing, Democrats know they must divide us. I believe the more prudent way to go at this issue is in a more positive way. Defend the family, life and marriage. Speak about strong families and their importance in building a strong society and nation. While I do not defend this lifestyle, there are many gays who support conservative principles, Ric Grenell immediately comes to mind. I also do not defend many lifestyles of heterosexuals either, but I don’t make it an issue either. We, of course, cannot tolerate the anti-family in your face grooming of our children and overt hedonism that is being pushed down our throats and it is fair game and should be denounced. What I am trying to convey is that we must be smart when we make any cultural proclamations. I urge the party to dwell on the positive. Promote families and the necessary value they add to society. Democrats want the country to believe Republicans are bigots. Let’s just not give them that ammunition. We are not intolerant. In fact, we are very tolerant but there is a line that must not be crossed and the democrats have bounded over it and demand we follow. This blatant in your face hedonism of any variety must stop. It is unhealthy and will destroy our culture.

This article is definitely written with a slant and does not accurately report what happened and contains factual errors.
I know, because I WAS THERE.
2000 Mules (called 200 mules in the article) is disparaged, along with attempts to make it seem as those the delegates where blood thirsty racists.
What I personally observed was a presage of a cataclysmic Tsunami rejecting and repudiating the Media, Cultural, and business efforts to shut any opposition down without rational discussion.
Reports of booing of Senator Cornyn were highly exaggerated. He was booed lustily for abut 1/3 or his talk at the beginning and booed loudly when he departed the stage, but he was NOT booed in the entirety of his speech.
It became readily apparent that the grassroots delegates and alternates are DONE with all-talk RINOs who won't stand up against those who want to destroy our culture or who just pay lip service to well-worn phrases without taking ACTION.
The other thing that became very apparent is the THREE Hispanic women have recently won election to Congress and that we are about to see a BIG Change in South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley counties AWAY from the Demonrat Socialist Marxist party!!
Texans are no longer merely saying "vote red" anymore, they are demanding that those who are elected actually DO SOMETHING to fight the fight rather than sit on their butts, thinking about re-election in two years and collecting money from lobbyists and those who can make them rich by selling their influence in government.
This is no longer the same old Republican Party in Texas. Right or wrong, the body of delegates and alternates are RED UP and angry, so there will be no more 'business as usual' after this Convention

If we can get the other five cheating states to admit the same thing, we might just get rid of this disease in the White House early.

Texas has to set this up to keep the weirdos and misfits migrating there from blue states. Let the outside destructive idiots know the rules if they intend to move there. It's coming to that in states like Texas and Florida especially.

I am appalled that they would make statements like this in their platform. Better to make statements promoting the nuclear family, that has been under attack in the last few decades. This kind of attack is not helpful to the GOP.

Texas Republicans...they wear boots because they step in every cowpie on the range. My county, once the most red in Texas, is about all blue these days, with crazy liberals now running it. (I thought I left those behind in MD.) And this sort of nonsense is one of many reasons they continue to lose political traction.

I am not one of those who believe Texas is the end all and be all in common sense and and effectiveness. Focusing on these two issues, which appear no where on voters’ list of concerns, is foolish and counterproductive.

Texans wear boots because there are dangerous snakes slithering amongst us... oddly, I feel the need to wear them in this Salon.
