Violent crimes are on the rise in six of America's major cities and set to outpace the already historic levels of 2021 violent crime.
Baltimore, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and New York City are all on pace to break their 2021 levels of violent crime halfway through this year, with the nation's largest city leading the group, according to crime data reviewed by Fox News. The NYPD is already retreating from its plan to conduct solo patrols in the city’s mass transit system—after a solitary cop was assaulted in a Brooklyn subway system by a man who repeatedly tried to grab his service weapon, police officials said Tuesday night.
Mayor Adams announced his solo patrol plan earlier Tuesday, over the objections from the city’s largest police union. But by Tuesday night, after a conversation with Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch, he agreed to put two officers on every train patrol, a PBA spokesman said.(Snip)The suspect, who is homeless and has a history of assaulting NYPD officers,

The cop husband of a teacher murdered in the Uvalde school shooting tried to rush in and save her after she called to tell him she had been shot but was stopped by colleagues who took away his gun.
Ruben Ruiz, an Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District officer, was rushing to his wife's aid when he was detained in a hallway at Robb Elementary School during the shooting which left 19 students and two teachers dead last month. UK health officials are set to offer monkeypox vaccines to gay and bisexual men who are deemed to be the most “at-risk” of catching the virus. The UK Health Security Agency said men who have sex with other men have the highest chance of contracting the disease, and vaccines will help flatten the curve of the virus as the UK’s cases soar to nearly 800.(Snip)Doctors may advise vaccination for someone who has several sexual partners, participates in group sex, or attends “sex-on-premises” venues, the agency added. The monkeypox virus is understood to spread through close contact with an infected person.

The leader of a drug ring that flooded a city with heroin and cocaine has fought a four-year human rights battle against deportation to Somalia. The Home Office made an order to remove Yahya Hashi four years ago after serving his eight-year sentence for conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin.(Snip)His first appeal was allowed on the basis he would be at risk of harm from terror group Al Shabaab in Somalia, given he was a member of a minority clan. He also claimed his deportation would breach his right to his family life in the UK, as he had lived here for 17 years, and his mother,

An Air Force service member has been arrested by military police for an alleged insider attack at a US base in Syria in April that left four US service members injured, officials said. The unidentified airman was arrested in the United States on June 16 after allegedly setting off explosives during the attack in Green Village Syria, Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek told CNN. “After reviewing the information in the investigation, the Airman’s commander made the decision to place him in pretrial confinement,” Stefanek said.
No other details about the individual have been released. “We won’t release the individual’s name unless charges are preferred,” Stefanek said.

The United States is pushing to “strengthen international coordination” against the Chinese government’s human rights abuses, with a specific focus on banning products made with forced labor in China‘s Xinjiang region, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday. The U.S. and some human rights groups accuse Beijing of genocide against ethnic Uyghurs in the predominantly Muslim region, and Mr. Blinken sought to highlight the issue as U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials began implementing a law prohibiting imports made by forced labor into the United States. President Biden signed the “Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act” into law in December after it passed through Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support

Jerusalem—Israel’s outgoing coalition government will fast-track a bill this week to dissolve parliament, setting up the country for its fifth elections in three years, a Cabinet minister said Tuesday.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced on Monday that he would disband his alliance of eight ideologically diverse parties, a year after taking office, and send the country to the polls. A series of defections from his Yamina party had stripped the coalition of its majority in Israel’s parliament, known as the Knesset. Bennett cited the coalition’s failure earlier this month to extend a law that grants West Bank settlers special legal status as a main impetus for new elections.

The door wasn’t even locked. Responding officers waited for a key to a classroom that couldn’t be locked from the inside during the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, the state’s public safety director testified Tuesday. In the end, 19 children and two teachers were killed. Armed police reportedly waited nearly an hour outside the classroom that the gunman was in during the May 24 massacre.
“I have great reasons to believe (the door) was never secured,” Col. Steve McCraw said at a state Senate hearing Tuesday. “How about trying the door and seeing if it’s locked?” The criticism was one of many made by McCraw, who testified

New York—Kellogg is splitting into three different companies in a major shakeup for the 116-year-old company. The first company will include Kellogg's (K) North America cereal unit, which includes Raisin Bran and Rice Krispies, its snacking unit will become a second company, including Cheez-Its and Pringles. And, lastly, a new "pure-play plant-based foods company" will be anchored by its MorningStar Farms brand. New names for the spin-offs will be announced later, and the spinoffs are expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The board of directors has approved the plans and headquarters for the three units will remain unchanged.

At some point President Biden’s delay in building any significant new sections of border wall will cross the line into being an illegal obstruction, congressional Republicans warned in a letter Tuesday to the White House demanding answers about the stall.
Mr. Biden halted construction more than 500 days ago, making good on his campaign vow that “not another foot” would be built on his watch. But his administration insists he hasn’t actually blocked the money Congress approved but is instead figuring out how it should be spent. That explanation no longer holds water, said Republicans on the House Budget Committee, led by Rep. Jason Smith of Missouri.

A month after President Biden invoked the Defense Production Act to import emergency supplies of infant formula, store shelves are still half empty and brands shipped on U.S. military planes from other countries are not yet helping many families struggling to find critical specialty brands. The U.S. government began importing infant formula from Switzerland, the United Kingdom and elsewhere one month ago.(Snip)Despite government intervention, many families with infants are still desperately searching for their next formula can. They have had to rely on social media groups to learn when store shelves are restocked or to buy from people who are selling or trading a can or two.

The story changes by the day. The sheriff's radio was only picking up traffic reports, the police chief didn't even bother to bring a radio, the outside school door was broken, the classroom door lock was also broken but the First Responders didn't even try, and the team practiced for just this event at this school a year ago. If they practiced bravely hiding behind their ballistic shields and waiting for orders, until the untrained killer murdered as many kids as he pleased, then the training was 100% effective.
