Experts say proposed federal gun safety
measures might not have prevented Uvalde shooting

The federal gun safety proposal announced last week by a bipartisan group of senators in response to the attack on Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, is "a step in the right direction," according to several authorities -- but the measures, had they already been in place, might not have prevented the Uvalde shooting, mental health and violence experts told ABC News. The proposal does not raise the age limit to purchase semiautomatic assault-style weapons -- but for buyers under 21 years of age, it "requires an investigative period to review juvenile and mental health records

Comments:

They say it "might" not have prevented it, when the reality is there's no doubt, it would not have prevented the shooting. So, why are they pursuing it?

Total garbage. Gun safety does not prevent dysfunctional families and mental illness. Guns are not the only weapon. Clubs and hatchets were the murder implement of choice in the old days. In "Sanjuro" Toshiro Mifune killed 27 guys in 30 seconds with a sword, and they were armed. Restraint and a properly balanced mind are the gun's safety, as always.

They are using the deaths of children to advance their political goals, which would have done NOTHING to prevent the Uvalde tragedy or any other mass shooting.

No Stored High In Transit. Guns are tools just like hammers and rakes. Humans use the guns - the guns don't work by themselves. Any federal gun legislation is still unconstitutional until the #2A is amended. That shall not be infringed by the government is still the law of the land. DC critters always forget that.

"Might not"??? No gun law has ever reduced crime. In fact, there is a perfect inverse relationship between crime rates and gun laws. More crime is always the case where there are the most gun restrictions. Always.

So far this Juneteenth weekend in Chicago, 47 were shot, at least 4 died. Did our ruling class gun controllers include a plan to address the bloodbath in Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago? Of course, not.

The “experts”, as usual, are dead wrong. What would have stopped the Uvalde shooting was police officers doing their jobs. The cops at the scene were, unfortunately, cowards and a disgrace to the badge.

Certainly having a tactical response team onsite, including people who trained for just this type of attack only a year ago at that very school, did nothing to prevent or stop the shooting. It was stopped by a border patrol agent, who borrowed his barber's shotgun mid-haircut, and went into the school on his own while the First Responders hid outside pretending to look for keys to the schoolroom, which was not even locked.

What does gun safety measures have to do with a mentally ill murderer who wants to kill as many people as he can? No number of laws or 'safety' laws would have prevented the Uvalde massacre. The safety would be, take down all the No gun zone signs replacing them with we shoot armed trespassers on sight. The next safety laws will be directed at innocent gun owners who didn't commit a crime. Like drunk drivers kill people so ban cars of sober drivers that's how gun control works. Burden the innocent gun owners with 'safety' laws while ignoring the mental state of bad people.

Due to the slow-walking of the report it is unfortunately looking more and more like police failure to respond was the major factor in so many deaths. I have heard the door may not have been locked at all. Shots were fired outside the school to draw attention to the developing situation. Police were on the scene in a couple of minutes, yet 77 minutes passed before they entered. 911 calls from inside the classroom were begging for help. It is my opinion that this was a case of suicide by cop if only the cops had acted sooner. I also think the shooter wanted to kill just a few thinking that would force the cops to barge in....But they did not enter.

The fact that we must discuss this topic on Fathers’ Day is unfortunate, but indicative of life in modern America. Democrats, particularly those who are Pro-Abortion, are constantly required to perform an incoherent tap dance in their attempt to legitimize their argument in defiance of both science and faith. It’s an impossible feat to accomplish, but they try it anyway, and some are better at it than others. Vice-President Kamala Harris may be the worst of all at performing the ritual, as we saw once again on Friday. To disregard the scientific facts illustrating

Warnock will be facing University of Georgia sports legend Herschel Walker, who won last month’s Republican primary and who remains extremely popular in the state. And polling data indicates that Warnock’s party is likely in for an overall clobbering in the fall, thanks largely to President Biden’s utter incompetence and a tanking economy. Indeed, Warnock is facing an uphill battle. Yet thanks to recent fact checks on claims that the senator made prior to his narrow 2020 electoral victory

Yesterday, while voters elsewhere in California were casting ballots to recall far-left District Attorney Chesa Boudin in San Francisco for his soft-on-crime policies and subsequent skyrocketing violent crime rates, another DA 500 miles to the south was successful in her efforts to actually hold criminals accountable. According to multiple reports, a grand jury in San Diego indicted eleven Antifa counter-protest participants on Tuesday for allegedly attacking Pro-Trump demonstrators at a Pacific Beach march last January 9th, only three days after the infamous march and riot in Washington D.C. Of those indicted, ten have pleaded not guilty, while the eleventh is expected to be arraigned in a few weeks.

One advantage the Republican Party has had over Democrats for several years now is moral credibility. When Harvard University and other Ivy League schools confessed to discriminating against applicants based on race and skin color, specifically against white and Asian students, Democrats had no problem with the practice, including President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Republicans have been understandably vocal in denouncing the policies. Similarly, when racial bigotry rears its ugly head from Republicans, action is taken. When former Republican Iowa Congressman Steve King made “white supremacist” comments, he was rebuked by a vote of 416-1 in the House of Representatives,

Pelosi started off by branding the conservative justices on the court as being “dangerous,” threatening families, freedom, democracy, and probably puppies for good measure.
