Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis staked his claim Thursday as the first governor in America not to provide state support for vaccinating younger kids against COVID-19. DeSantis stressed at an event Thursday that parents can still vaccinate their young children. Even though the state will not be working with the federal government to distribute the vaccine, that doesn’t mean it is banned, according to DeSantis. “You are free to choose — that’s not the issue,” he said.

Comments:

This governor is truly a leader who makes wise decisions for his state. He is a proven leader who would make a great president!

OP, I could not agree more. My concern is for other Republican leaders. This guy has the right strategy. Why not follow his lead? He is a proven winner and voters appreciate the job he is doing. Following the Rino playbook is a failing strategy. They are almost as toxic to the Republic as democrats are. They just do their shenanigans behind our backs and lie to us to our faces. They are playing both sides of the street but they never work for the benefit of the American people. If that happens, it’s just a lucky break for us. If they were serious about representing us, they would be in the front lines taking to the democrats every single day.

DeSantis is a bold leader, no doubt; he does things the people want instead of just talking loudly and not following up. Note however that other states have also protected children from these vaccines, as they should. "A CNN analysis has found that at least seven states—Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Montana, Oklahoma and Utah—have enacted legislation this year that would restrict public schools from requiring either coronavirus vaccinations or documentation of vaccination status." "As of June 22, at least 34 states had introduced bills that would limit requiring someone to demonstrate their vaccination status or immunity against Covid-19, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures, which has been tracking legislation related to coronavirus vaccines. At least 13 states—Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Utah—have passed them into law, according to the document, and at least six of those include language pertaining specifically to schools or education." https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/13/health/covid-19-vaccine-requirements-schools-analysis-wellness/index.html

DeSantis gets SO much right, where huge swaths of the "experts" get it all wrong. Any medical procedure should have a 'risk versus reward' calculation made. If the reward is big and risk small, the choice is easy. However, when the risk is extremely close to zero from a disease, and the "vaccine" has literally millions of people harmed by it....the balance is strongly in favor of "avoid the mRNA shots at all cost". Children who are healthy have almost no risk from even the original, deadlier Chinese Communist virus. The mutated and less harmful version circulating now should prove to be even less risk to children.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) sees U.S. foreign aid for Ukraine as a fiscal issue tied to inflation. During an interview with Mobile, AL radio FM Talk 106.5, the junior Kentucky Republican U.S. Senator likened the expenditures for Ukraine to any other government expenditures, which he said all contribute to government debt. However, noting his sympathies for Ukraine in their plight against Russia, he said U.S. spending on the problem did not make sense. “Inflation is caused by spending money that you don’t have that the Federal Reserve buys the debt,” he said.

Gallup has been tracking Americans’ view of U.S. morals for the past two decades and noted that while negative views have been the “norm,” the current 50 percent poor rating is the highest on record by one percentage point. Thirty-seven percent of those polled say U.S. morals are “only fair.” Only one percent say the state of moral values is “excellent,” and 12 percent say “good.”

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) said its gauge of businesses expecting better business conditions over the next six months fell to the worst reading in the 48-year history of the survey. This measure’s previous all-time high was set in April. Inflation continues to be a problem for small businesses with 28 percent of owners reporting it is their single most important problem in operating their business. That is below the 32 percent recorded in April, the highest reading since the fourth quarter of 1980.

The group also carried dolls and wore white pants with blood stains around the crotch, which they said represented an increase in the number of forced births that would take place if Barrett and her fellow conservative justices strike down Roe v. In her June 18/19 column at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Noonan takes Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" slap at Trump voters and goes one — nay, two better. She refers to voters who question the results of the 2020 presidential election as "kooks, crooks, and freaks" and then smears the citizens who went to Washington, D.C. January 6, 2021 as "[t]hose poor stupid people." What is the basis for this criticism, which, arguably, is less ad hominem and, more accurately, descriptive of her mindset? Perhaps Ms. Noonan has not read Margot Cleveland's analysis in The Federalist showing how Georgia election officials failed to enforce the state's election laws in 2020.

New York City needs to “do better” in preventing black residents from being driven out of their neighborhoods, Mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday, during an address marking the Juneteenth holiday. Speaking in Central Park, Adams compared the modern-day uprooting of people of color from neighborhoods across the US—including the five boroughs—to slavery. “When I was in Ghana last year, [I] saw how families were displaced, torn apart and brought over to America through slavery in the hulls of the ships, living in dungeons, spending months and months living in their human waste, having their babies taken from them, and saw them dispersed and displaced,” he said.

Near the end of an especially tumultuous week in his tumultuous presidency, Joe Biden gave his first media interview in four months to someone who wasn’t a late-night comedian. For a public hungering for answers, it wasn’t worth the wait. The president chose The Associated Press and the sit-down lasted a little less than 30 minutes, but that was more than enough time for him to demonstrate again he’s got no new ideas or even a new way of packaging old ideas. Biden acknowledges America is in a funk, but shows no sense of compassion or determination to turn the tide.
