Measles has been spotted in two children in Minnesota including one whose illness was so severe it led to them being hospitalized, local health officials say. The youngsters—both under five years old—started displaying symptoms of the disease shortly after returning from an unnamed nation where 'measles is common'. While one child is on emergency wards at a hospital the second is currently in isolation at home.(Snip)Measles has been eliminated in the United States for almost 20 years thanks to a comprehensive vaccination program. But globally the disease continues to circulate in a handful of countries including Brazil, India and areas of West and Central Africa.

An unnamed nation, sure.

In about 1960, when I was five, I caught what my pediatrician called "red measles," (aka measles) remember the red blotches on my skin and feeling miserable when my temperature hit 105. I was a sick little boy. One-oh-five: That was just a number to me, but years later my mother told me that for her and my father not to show their fear to me or my younger siblings was tough to do. They had to keep it inside. Our sisters all got shots for German measles to protect their reproductive health, but I don't remember any other children than myself who had the red measles. I was well taken care of and prayed for, and recovered. But that illness did threaten my life. And more than one doctor has suspected that my myopia from the fourth grade was caused by that illness. By all means, get the two dose MMR vaccine if you need it.

But no, the CDC is concentrating on Covid vaccinations for a near 100% survivable disease in that age group. Thanks to the illegals, we now get to watch children die from real diseases like mumps, measles, polio, tuberculosis, etc. These clowns are totally incompetent!

A video shot from the side of the two-lane road showed the demonstrators using road-block protest tactics also used in Britain, causing a huge traffic jam to snake back as far as the eye could see, with no police officers or vehicles in sight. The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way for lawmakers to severely limit or even ban abortion in the state, reversing a decision by the court just four years ago that guaranteed the right to the procedure under the Iowa Constitution. The court, now composed almost entirely of Republican appointees, concluded that a less conservative court wrongly decided that abortion is among the fundamental privacy rights guaranteed by the Iowa Constitution and federal law. Friday's ruling comes amid expectations that the Supreme Court will overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Then Iowa lawmakers could ban abortion in the state without completing the lengthy process

The country’s eyes are trained on high-profile massacres in Texas and Buffalo, but most mass shootings bear little resemblance to those. Of 267 incidents this year classified as mass shootings by the Gun Violence Archive, nearly all can be tied to gang beefs, neighborhood arguments, robberies or domestic incidents that spiraled out of control.
