Caterpillar Inc. said Tuesday it will move its global headquarters from Illinois to an existing divisional office in Irving, Texas, in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, in another blow to the Chicago area, which last month lost the Boeing Co. headquarters. The move is “in the best strategic interest of the company,” Chief Executive Jim Umpleby said in a statement. The heavy-machinery maker has had a presence in Texas since the 1960s, it said. Even with the move, Illinois has the largest concentration of Caterpillar employees anywhere in the world, the company said. The headquarters was historically in downstate Peoria, Ill.

Make yourself at home CAT.
I've got one of your tractor hats.
Would I be wrong to think you're designing an electric dozer?

Texas is becoming crowded with the flight from blue states and the invasion from the southern border.

This has been coming for a loooong time. They finally had the guts to do it. Good for them. Just wait until State Farm moves to Texas - they’ll go nuts.
Hey, Illinois - embrace the suck.

Looks like Texas ought to be building several more nuke plants to handle the increasing electrical demand. And tell the EPA and fed-gov, "States Rights - 10th amendment", when some commie federal judge tries to stop it for the watermelon eco-nuts(commies).

Maybe lorry lightweight can send thugs to the decision makers’ homes and their kids’ schools to get them to carefully reconsider their hastily ill thought out decision. Or maybe she doesn’t know/care.

Pretty soon, the red states will hold all the manufacturing capability, aircraft assembly posts, farming assets, a majority of military assets, best schools and most importantly strong economies. We wouldn’t even notice if created a new nation by cutting the blue states loose and letting them wither.

It might be deemed to be operational malpractice to keep your publicly-traded company in a blue state.

Welcome, but if bringing employees, tell them to leave their liberal ideas in Chicago. Texas doesn't need any more of the liberal cancer.

This will be a huge blow to the Peoria area. The Caterpillar plant is in rural farm country. Hopefully, they can afford to relocate to Texas.
#10...the employee's being "liberal's" not likely. Chicago and the East St Louis areas are the ones who have destroyed our state. The vast majority of counties in the state are RED. We have been at the mercy of the other's for years. Illinois is a beautiful state with so much history and really nice people. I understand it, but it hurts a bit to hear the criticism caused by corrupt politician's. Our beautiful Chicago is dying before our eyes. We have several republican candidates for governor that could have a real shot at defeating Governor Flintstone (Pritzker) but even with the support of the majority of citizens, he has the money to pay off every person in the state. Very discouraging. Texas, please be there to welcome the freed Illiniosian's as they make their move.

Not to worry Illinois knows exactly what to do in response, all it well. They'll just raise taxes. There fixed it.

Why wouldn't it? As a state, Illinois may be the
most corrupt state in the nation . . . courtesy of
the Dems, unions, Chicago, etc.
For proof, check out the number of state leaders who
have served time in jail.

Thanks to Caterpillar's Illinois values, Texas is about to become even more LGBTQI+ friendly.
"Heather joined Caterpillar Lambda, an Employee Resource Group helping to create an inclusive environment for Caterpillar's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer employees, and their allies, working together to educate employees on the perspective and value of the LGBTQIA+ and ally community. She became engaged in the work to start a Texas chapter, and during a meeting to fill out the paperwork and charter, she very nervously came out to her ERG teammates for the first time. She found acceptance and support, and slowly progressed from there, next finding the courage to wear a shirt with the rainbow Caterpillar logo. Choosing a shirt when getting dressed in the morning is a small decision for most people, but this was a huge step for her, and one that has brought new connections."

Took long enough. I'm sure, as explanation, the move will cost a great deal. We're hoping it goes well.

Good for Caterpillar, they have a big office in middle Tennessee I knew a bunch of guys that worked at their good paying jobs. One day one of them looked like his dog just died. He said caterpillar was moving him back to the Peoria with a raise. I'll bet most of those employees are red-pilled.

A lot of CAT employees moved from the East to the new plant in Victoria, TX. A lot of those workers were as conservative and God-fearing (or more) than the natives. My brother is a businessman there and knows the General Manager. He told me that three years ago. The plant has done very well!
Don’t worry, #11, the Illinois transplants will be warmly welcomed and they will meet many other newcomers. We Texans are having to make a lot of adjustments as we are experiencing many changes very fast. We don’t mean to come across unfriendly.
