White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been having a tough time with her job. And yes, she’s–without argument–not doing very well. But to be honest, how can anyone effectively defend Joe Biden’s actions at this point, because he keeps doing the indefensible? There is no real way to effectively defend the mess, so anyone who tries would have a hard time. On Tuesday, she said that the American Rescue Plan, one of the things that likely contributed to inflation, helped against inflation ,in a maddeningly wrong comment.
But instead of changing the policies or doing the right thing, the Biden team seems to be employing two different tactics.

While some people on the left are making much of a passing joke about AR-15s, others have opened the floodgates of slime, accusing her without any evidence of having worked as an escort and of having had two abortions. Jezebel passes along the allegations:
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) reportedly had two abortions and worked as an unlicensed paid escort. During her escort work, one wealthy client in Aspen introduced her to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who subsequently encouraged Boebert to run for office.
The allegations come from American Muckrakers PAC, the group that published the viral sexually explicit video of Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) with another man

Republican Mayra Flores made history Tuesday night when she won a special election in a South Texas congressional district, flipping a longtime Democratic stronghold and soon becoming the first congresswoman born in Mexico.
She will fill the remainder of U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela’s term, which expires in January. Vela, a Brownsville Democrat, resigned from the seat in March to take a job at a lobbying firm.
Here are five things to know about the congresswoman-elect, who will represent Texas’ 34th district: 1. Her victory was notable for two reasons

The corporate media has a clear left-wing agenda, and the faster Republicans acknowledge that the better they will become at skillfully calling out media activists and their Democrat-informed narratives. An example out of Florida this week is a perfect lesson in how it’s done.
Not only is Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis an expert in dishing out cheeky responses to journos during press conferences and exposing the corporate media’s hoaxing, but other bureaucrats in the Floridian’s administration have also taken hints from the state leader and begun to tactfully reject the press’s deceitful advances.
Just this week, a New Yorker “fact-checker” reached out to the Florida Department of Health demanding an on-background call.

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised interest rates by 0.75%, the largest move it has made in a single meeting since 1994.
The central bank messaged that further interest rate hikes will come this year, as the Fed leans on higher borrowing costs to dampen demand and work to slow faster-than-expected inflation.
“Overall economic activity appears to have picked up after edging down in the first quarter,” the policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee said in a statement, repeating its commitment to “ongoing increases.”

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated in a tweet in the early hours of Wednesday that he voted for Republican candidate Mayra Flores in the recent special election for Texas’s 34th Congressional District, also predicting a “massive red wave in 2022.” Following her historic win, Flores responded to Musk saying, “Welcome to the Republican Party! We welcome all walk aways from all walks of life. The party of opportunity, prosperity, and freedom is here to stay. We look forward to working together and building a better future for all of America.”

Trump-endorsed Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Adam Laxalt secured the Republican nomination in a landslide victory on Tuesday, according to projections from the New York Times.
Former Nevada Attorney General Laxalt beat his competitor Sam Brown 56 percent to 33 percent when the Times called the race with just 40 percent of votes counted by 10:00 p.m. PDT. Laxalt pulled off a victory after leading in the polls by double digits in the months leading up to the primary election. No other candidate received over four percent. Laxalt heavily benefited from the endorsements of conservative heavyweights, including former President Donald Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). He also has a well-established record from prior leadership

Mount Pleasant - U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, a freshman South Carolina Republican who drew Donald Trump’s ire after openly criticizing the former president in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack, fended off a fierce primary challenge from Katie Arrington, surviving Trump’s public political crusade against her.
Arrington, a Summerville Republican who jumped into the congressional contest in early February, conceded to Mace shortly after 11 p.m. June 14 at about the same time Mace was on-stage delivering a victory speech.
Arrington endorsed Mace as she looks toward the general election, agreeing Mace won the race “fair and square,” prompting some of her supporters

The next two weeks will be chock full of major Supreme Court decisions that will decide how America looks and functions in the future. All eyes, of course, are focused on Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which started out as an attempt by pro-aborts to protect their ability to kill more babies and, based on the draft decision by Justice Alito that was leaked in early May (Politico Tries to Pre-Game SCOTUS by Publishing Leaked Draft Opinion Overturning Roe), may end up throttling Moloch himself. Next, there is a gun rights case that seems guaranteed to dismantle the unconstitutional “may issue” laws that prevent all but a sliver of American

First it was Boeing, which announced a few weeks ago that it was moving its headquarters from Chicago to the Washington DC area. Boeing had moved to Chicago from its long-time home in Seattle 20 years ago to “be closer to its customers.” So this move to DC makes sense as the federal government is increasingly a primary “customer” of Boeing products—not just defense material, but its commercial aircraft and other product lines for which the FAA and NASA are now de facto managerial partners.
Today, heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar announced that it, too, is pulling up stakes

Republican Mayra Flores prevailed Tuesday in a special election for an open congressional seat in South Texas, marking a major breakthrough for Republicans eager to blaze new inroads in the historically blue region.
She beat Dan Sanchez, the leading Democrat, outright in the closely watched race and will be the first Mexican-born congresswoman. She will get to serve only until January, but Republicans heralded her win as a shot of momentum in their new South Texas offensive. With all precincts reporting Tuesday night, Flores had 50.98% of the vote and Sanchez had 43.33%.

As RedState reported earlier, the January 6th committee suddenly postponed its next hearing, which was set to take place on Wednesday. That came after infighting among the members broke out into the open on Monday over whether the committee should issue criminal referrals, including possibly for Donald Trump.
When I wrote the initial report on the postponement, the excuse given by sources to the mainstream media was that they needed more time to prepare video exhibits. To even those supportive of the committee, that shouldn’t make any sense. Are we to believe these congressional members, who have been planning these hearings for a long time, waited until the day before
