The U.S. Coast Guard reports watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Boston received a call at about 7 p.m. reporting six people, two adults and four children, had fallen in the water while fishing on Deer Island. Officials said two people, a woman and a child, were recovered by a good Samaritan and transferred to emergency medical services for treatment. They were taken to Anna Jacques Hospital. Cincinnati police arrested 27-year-old Angel Kidd on a felonious assault charge. They booked her into the Hamilton County Justice Center shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.

QUILCENE, Wash. - Two Jefferson County fire departments rescued a California woman who became stuck in a vault toilet at the top of Mount Walker on Tuesday after falling in the toilet to retrieve her phone.
Mount Walker is located in Quilcene, Washington and is part of the Olympic National Forest.
The woman told rescuers that she dropped her cell phone down into the vault toilet while she was using it. She tried to take the toilet apart to get it, but when that didn't work, she said she used her dog's leash to try and fish it out.

The Washington state Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a person’s race, and law enforcement’s long history of discrimination against people of color, should be taken into account when determining the legality of police seizures.
The court also clarified state law to say police have seized a person if an objective observer would conclude that the person was not free to leave or refuse a request. But, the court wrote, that “objective observer” must be aware that discrimination and biases “have resulted in disproportionate police contacts, investigative seizures, and uses of force against Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.”
